Had an old friend join us for lunch. Gave him a choice of entrees. He opted for fried oysters, so the decision where to go was easy. Because I had eaten a hundred Oysters by myself over the last 10 days, I opted for Liver and Onions.
That said the L and O was good. The Oysters were great

If I could give a negative star I would. Ordered a pickup order from this place and arrived about 20 minutes later, only to wait almost a half hour for the food. I should have checked to make sure it was correct, it wasn’t. Went to get a replacement order and it took over an hour while the owner had a terrible attitude. In this economy not taking care of people who choose your establishment is a huge mistake. The tourist are almost gone for the year, winter is coming!

I took my friend to Virginia Street Cafe yesterday because she loves fried osyters. She said they were the best she ever ate. I got the fried trout and it was good as well. If you love seafood you will love this place.

We picked this place for a late lunch because we saw it was more crowded than other places we had passed, and thought that was a good sign. It turned out to be a very nice lunch, great service and even better, reasonable prices. My friend had fried trout which came with cole slaw , loads of fries and very large hush puppies, all for $10 which is about the cheapest we’ve seen lately. I had Bar-B-Que which was decent. The place has a very homey, small town feel which I love. The bathroom was very clean. If I visit Urbanna again, this is where I will eat.

We ate here once more than 10 years ago and remember having an okay meal. Nothing spectacular, but passable standard fare. On our second visit today we were looking for a quick bite and ordered sandwiches (a grilled chicken and a reuben) and water. Over an hour later we were still waiting and decided to leave. In addition to the wait, we were frustrated to see three other tables of guest that came in after us receive their orders well before us. We have no idea what happened and our waitress did not feel the need to update us or apologize for the extraordinarily long delay for two sandwiches. BTW, the restaurant was sparsely occupied in addition to being unusually warm and stuffy. Apparently, the a/c was not up to the task.

I ordered philly cheese steak sub to go to take back to the office. It was hot, fresh and tasty. Next time I will ask for provolone cheese instead of yellow cheese. Was really good.

We saw the buffet advertised for New years on Facebook and decided that’s what we were doing today. As always the food was so delicious . My boys were fat and happy when we left. And for the record the tea did not need all that sugar my son put in it. He’s just EXTRA . Thank you all . Til next time . Xoxo

Delicious, fresh and cooked to order! We enjoyed lunch with a light atmosphere. Philly cheese was full and cooked to perfection. Club combo was filling and fresh. The onion rings were a meal in themselves! So so good.

I really wanted to like this place. Ate here years ago and remember it was not great but thought I’d try again. Still bad sorry to report. Ordered breakfast on a Friday morning, sausage gravy over biscuits and a cheese omelet. No sausage in the gravy! NONE! Don’t know if the waitress with the mean attitude got the order wrong or the cook but it had absolutely no sausage. Just white “gloop”. Like from a powder “Sawmill” style and taste. Biscuits from a can at Food Lion. Omelet was okay, very scarce on cheese. Waitress never refilled our coffee cups or checked on us. Only 2 tables had guests, assuming others knew better. Well I may try again in a couple of more years. I am local to Saluda, sorry VA Street Cafe, did wish for a better experience.
