VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!!!!
We used to eat here all the time. It’s never taken more than ten minutes to get a fish fry.
Tonight was an off night and an AWFUL NIGHT ALL AROUND!!!
Our waitress was fantastic!!!!
Much love and respect for her.
The kitchen and management dropped the ball in exceedingly ways and exponentially!!
We arrived a wee bit after 7pm. By 7:10pm, we had placed our food order. A couple tables that arrived after us, had eaten and left…..only about half of the available tables were occupied. At 7:40pm, I asked if the kitchen had forgotten about us? The EXCELLENT waitress was super apologetic and said she would find out what was going on in the kitchen.
At 7:50pm, the table that was sat right before us left, and I told our waitress and a bartender (which by her reaction I can only assume was a manager) that I was frustrated and in four minutes I was leaving. As I was getting ready to leave, five minutes later our food arrived. The fish was warm not hot, the potato pancakes were COLD!!!!
I felt so bad for our incredible wonderful waitress, but I was done!!! We paid for our beers and left our cold food at the table and walked out!!!
We have had the fish fry here many times.
There is NO EXCUSE for how poorly the kitchen was and the PISS POOR management style!!!
If there was a problem in the kitchen, don’t you think a manager would have stopped by visited each table, apologizing and maybe even offering to comp an appetizer or a drink?
BUT NO, when I said something to the bartender that it had been over 40 minutes since we ordered our food, she said; ” sorry but some tables have been waiting over an hour”! First, BULLSH*T!!! This place ain’t that big, I know every table and all had their food, even those that arrived after us except for two tables. Second, that’s a proper reply? If other tables are waiting as long or longer than we have been you have a boatload of problems!! You don’t just shrug tor shoulders and say, hey so what others have been waiting also.
I don’t know if I can give On The Rocks another chance to redeem themselves!

I find it quite hilarious when certain customers pick up there togo order an hour after they were told it would be ready for them. after stating their grievances they are hooked up with a fresh pizza and given their money back. Than that same customer has the audacity to hop on a public forum and bad mouth that restaurant that did everything they could to take care of them..when will there be a restaurant review customer portion on google? (Great place)

Pathetic bar filled with over served drunken kids, drugs, and subpar food, not recommended, you might get jumped by some douchebag kids that think they are tough. Numerous incidents over the last few years of people being attacked inside and outside of this bar by punk kids, they train their bartenders not to call the cops. Their food is terrible and most of it is frozen from a food service provider. Potato encrusted cod is a frozen product that is already breaded, the pizza crust is frozen and the sauce is out of a can, and the burgers are awful and feature a frozen product as well. It’s sad that this place is located in Merton, it’s a real shame that this place caters to punk kids that are going to end up killing somebody on their way home.

Was nervous about going due to anothers prior review, but went anyway at 6pm on a Wednesday. Super friendly bartenders. Great food. And an older crowd. I was probably the youngest at 36. Will go back!
