Shannon was attentive and personable. Checked in on us just often enough, had a couple good jokes, and was knowledgeable about the menu.
The place itself? Felt right at home inside and out. We would have sat outside if it wasn’t too cold. Inside ig can get a bit loud when it’s packed (classic Friday drinkers), but dropped to a cozy chatter after about a half hour at 6:15.
Guest 1: Perch fish fry was excellent. Crisp, not oily, well seasoned, not a strong ‘fishy’ flavor. Their German potato salad was to die for.
Guest 2: Baked cod – alright, but could have been warmer. Potato pancakes – perfect.
Me: Weekly special was salmon in a mustard cream sauce, rice pilaf, with sautéed spinach and mushrooms. Salmon just needed 30 seconds less in the pan and it would have been a perfect well done. Sauce was balanced, gently sweet. Spinach was cooked perfectly, nice acidity. Mushrooms could have done with a little browning, but were seasoned well. Pilaf was cooked just right, and had the right amount of salt/pepper, but I feel could have had some ‘oomph’. Host said they were trying new things and shaping up the menu, and I look forward to how they do in the future.

Food was decent although the chicken was overcooked. Number 1 criticism is the accessibility feature from the dining room to the outdoor deck. The ramp that does not have a level platform at the top. Imagine using a walker or wheelchair and trying to pull the door open (with your left hand) while you roll down the ramp.

Went for a fish fry last night. It wasn’t very busy compared to when we were there about a month ago. I ordered the seafood combo which consisted of 2 perch fillets that were so overcooked they had burnt edges, 2 deep fried shrimp that were also so overcooked that l literally couldn’t hardly bite through them, and last but not least a bite sized piece of overcooked cod . My wife had the beer batter cod that was on the greasy side and not very hot temperature wise. Drinks were good and free after we complained about the food. We had heard that Brian Willoughbee, the food and beverage manager had left a couple of weeks ago, that’s too bad because he finally had the place going pretty smooth with great food and service. Did yourselves a great disservice by letting him or asking him to leave. I doubt that we will come back, only went because we had a gift card.

My wife and I have enjoyed everything on the menu and this is a regular spot for us. We have always had great service, great food, and are never rushed out to turn the table.
You can’t beat the scenery either. We have hosted work parties and personal parties here several times over the years as well. Highly recommended!

Their food and prices are great. Please try them out. We ate here Saturday the 22nd of February. I had the tenderloin steak sandwiches and side salad for $19. Best tenderloin sandwich. tender no cords. .

Went to Jack’s Grill for Smokehouse Thursday. Great food and Fantastic service! We don’t have alot of BBQ options in the Sheboygan area so it is always nice to have another one to try. We were so happy we did. I had the smoked half chicken. Great smoky flavor, meat was juicy and tender and really nicely seasoned with a dry rub. My husband had the ribs. He ordered the full rack and it was a huge portion (plenty for leftovers). The ribs were tender and flavorful. The smokehouse meals came with potato salad, baked beans and cornbread. All of them were tasty as well. No complaints. Will definitely be back.

We have been here in the past and have gotten a good fish fry. However, we were there on Friday and got 3 “fish nuggets” instead of the nice pieces of cod that we had gotten the past. The problem with this restaurant is it has always been “hit and miss”. I would like to say that the staff helped make a bad situation good. Thank you to the bar tenders and our waitress who helped make our dining experience.

I ordered the Waldorf salad. It was not even close to what the menu said. I could not eat it. Waitress never came back. When I reached out to the restaurant they said they didn’t have a Waldorf salad. I sent them pics of their own menu!!! They said they’d like to send out a gift card. It’s been 3 months and they won’t reply at all. This place is not going to make it.
