Visited the place for the first time. I am not a big fan of catfish but my friends are, and they enjoyed both the sandwich as well as the Nuggets.
I got the small J’burger (which states that the meal comes with fries), but for some reason it did not. When we asked, he said it doesn’t (though it is written like that on the menu). The burger was okay, nothing special.
If you like catfish, then you should give this a try.

Damn good BBQ!!! It’s everything you’re looking for in BBQ and it’s not dry either. It’s locally and family owned with just their family working this location and another location they own in the West end.
The potatoes are done deliciously and crispy enough that you don’t need ketchup.
My husband got the catfish and loved it. He said it was fresh.
10/10 Highly recommend this place.

I just bought an order of wings and peach cobbler both for $7 and some change for a total of $15.88
I’ll probably go back cause I want to support black business and the workers are always friendly, but….
1. the peach cobbler had NOT 1 piece of fruit or any liquid (see the pic)
2. the wings lacked seasoning although the sauce was tasty
3. the place was hot

yesterday was the first time i’ve ever been, and their food is amazing!! their menu has changed though. here’s an updated photo of the menu. one item that i would definitely do recommend is their famous waffle topped with cream on top, it’s really good!! i have also attached a photo of their updated menu. : )

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We’ve heard great things about it so we decide to try it out for dinner. As soon as we walked in, it was extremely hot. The weather outside felt much better than inside there. Then, when we went to order, the worker told us that they didn’t any greens or any desserts which that what we come for. The only size they had to offer we’re all starchy sides. We decided to still give them a fair chance. I must say that there’s great potential, the food was not bad tasting. It was actually good. However, we got a seafood bake potato that didn’t have any crab meat in it. They should’ve told us that they didn’t have any because we could have gotten something else, but due to the extreme hot climate in there, I didn’t even wanna go back.

First walking in. It’s not welcoming,no ac so I’m sweating while ordering. Cashier looked like he didn’t want to be there at all, cost me $56, comes back two items are not ready at 2:00 pm. Wait about 30 minutes for food while sweating, get food home and boom wings was small but decent catfish was decent and pork was decent but the SIDES!!!!Straight trash Mac and cheese no flavor noodles over cooked the greens was sour and dark and the potato salad was flavorless so this place 2/10 !! Not worth the money

We live in So. Indiana and heard about this place. The food was amazing! The management was very personable. We had a mix of several things we ordered hungry lol! We had the burger & lemon honey wings, Mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, and greens sooo good!!! Will definitely return.

Possibly the worst BBQ in Louisville. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy wasting your money. The building itself is a rundown hole-in-the-wall place that’s understaffed. There were no other customers ordering food at the time our party of four ordered, and it took 45 minutes to receive our subpar food. I can’t imagine a worse dining experience.

This was literally the worst food we have ever been served in our lives. We each ordered rib tips, collard greens, and Mac n cheese. I also ordered 10 lemon pepper wings. I paid $31, and put $4 tip in the tip jar before receiving my food. While waiting for my food, I went 2 doors down to the convenice store. Was there for 10 minutes. Came back to the restaurant. Waited 10 more for my order which came without the 10 wings I ordered. 10 minutes later, I asked about the wings, and another server came over and said let me go check. 5 minutes later, I said cancel my wings, and the main person came over, with attitude to tell me he didn’t want to serve me raw wings. He could have slaughtered a whole chicken and fried it faster. I get back to our Air BnB, and what we received were the toughest ribs ever. The wings were without lemon pepper and cooked so hard, it felt like I was crunching on rock candy. The collard greens were without any seasoning and they were swimming in water. The mac n cheese was like a kids box of instant Mac n cheese. We could not eat the food. Instead of returning, and having a confrontation, I chose to write this detailed review. RUN AWAY FROM GARRISON’S BBQ.

They had a table set up for a festival and I saw the word “catfish” and had to stop. It’s been so long since I’ve had good fried catfish (not since I moved to Louisville) and it was… oh my god, breath of fresh air. My friends were begging for bites, and it was a LOT of catfish. I cannot recommend this place enough. I have a feeling they have made a customer of me.
