The food was phenomenal: cuban lasagna was cooked to perfection, with well marinated chicken and perfect balance of rice and cheese. Desert was a cherry on top of this delicious dinner. I would definitely come back for more!

Loved this place! Very fun ambiance, and the food was amazing. The server seemed a little overworked, but she was still kind and smiling, if a bit under appreciated. The piping work on the dessert was visually stunning, I wish I’d gotten a picture. I definitely hope I get to go back soon!

First time invited and this was amazing. Crispy, juicy, and just enough kick. Grabbed seconds just to make sure it wasn’t a dream. If you can get an invite, definitely recommend coming for the vibes and great food!

This was my first time here, and I hope it isn’t the last. Not only was that food absolutely incredible—the layers of flavor were exquisite—but the atmosphere was so much fun and welcoming. I highly recommend this if you are able to get an invitation.

We loved it! I didn’t think it possible. But, yes all the food came straight out of a can or the toaster.
Genius! Fingers crossed for an invite.
Seriously, for comic factor alone, 5 stars is not enough.
God speed on continued success.

Restaurant Name: Capt. Raleman’s AKA The Overconfident Chef
Location: Somewhere in Brickell
Date: July 19, 2023
Review:
I went to The Overconfident Chef with high hopes, but I was sorely disappointed. The chef clearly wasn’t properly trained, as the food was bland and uninspired. The portions were also tiny, and I was left feeling hungry after my meal.
The wine list was even worse. The only wine that was available was a $50 bottle of Franzia, and the waiter tried to convince me that it was a “great value.” The waiter actually told me that the Franzia was “award-winning.” I’m not sure what award it won, but I’m guessing it wasn’t the Nobel Prize for Winemaking.
The only thing that saved this restaurant from being a complete disaster was the ambiance. The dining room was dark and intimate, and the service was attentive.
If you’re looking for a good meal, I would steer clear of The Overconfident Chef. But if you’re looking for a place to have a romantic dinner in a dark, cave-like atmosphere, sipping on boxed wine, then this is the place for you.

I have worked from unique parts of the world and let me tell you, we are so fortunate to have this place just a few minutes drive away from home. Food is stunning, the finesse from the Capitan is amazing. Cocktails, wine and his beer selection just set your appetite’s mood for a meal of a life time. Love this place and will continue to visit.
Ask for the forbidden menu with the happy ending desert.

Wow! What a meal! A culinary journey second to none. From the first taste of a perfectly seasoned chicken taco to the table side flambé on the creme brûlée, every bite offered complex and harmonious flavors. And the chef was a joy, beginning to end.
