Reviews
From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. The host seated us quickly, and then we met our waiter, Nick. Let me just say, Nick deserves a standing ovation. He struck that rare balance of checking on us just enough without hovering. Professional, friendly, and on top of things the whole time. Honestly, he set the tone for the entire meal.
We had our drinks refilled without ever needing to ask, and the bread they bring out… wow. Whoever decided that bread should come free deserves a raise. It was warm, fresh, and disappeared way too quickly.
For dinner, I went with the fish and chips, which hit the spot. I asked for a lemon, and Nick didn’t just bring me one, he brought me a grilled lemon. That is the kind of above-and-beyond detail you don’t even think to ask for. Meanwhile, my wife, Tracy, had the Baja fish tacos, specially made less blackened because she didn’t want too much spice. She loved them.
Then came dessert: a seasonal fall cheesecake that looked like it belonged in a food magazine. And the best part? It tasted every bit as good as it was presented. Rich, creamy, and honestly one of the best slices of cheesecake I can remember having.
Here’s the funny thing. We weren’t even planning on going to Bonefish Grill. We were heading to Char Bar originally, but they were closed. At first, I was disappointed, but now I’m thankful. If Char Bar had been open, we would have missed out on one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time.
So to Nick and the staff at Bonefish Grill: well done. You turned what could have been an ordinary chain restaurant dinner into something memorable. We will definitely be back.
My only complaint was the woman who brought over a drink to my sister. When she was serving her the drink she spilled some of it on the menu and table. She made the comment “made with love” and walked away. We were all shocked by her behavior and that she didn’t apologize. She acted like it wasn’t a big deal and was in a hurry to leave. Unprofessional behavior for any wait staff or bartender to spill a drink and walk away. My sister cleaned up the mess with her napkin.
We ordered a few appetizers, including the Bang Bang Shrimp, crab cakes, fries, and a couple of other items. Everything was tasty, and the bread with the dipping oil was a nice touch.
The only downside was the seating near the bar — it wasn’t as comfortable as I would have liked. Despite that the overall experience was great, and I’d definitely return.
