Best Sushi in the region. Great fresh fish, and limited special availability fresh fish items you can’t get anywhere else in the region. I suggest doing as the name implies and trust the chef for a great variety of Sushi or Sashimi. Intimate setting, where you will get to know Angel as he expertly crafts your plate behind the counter. Also the only place in the region using fresh REAL wasabi, instead of horseradish based wasabi bought in stores/served at other establishments.

I took my wife here for our anniversary and the experience blew us away! I say experience because that is what we received. Angel’s cooking was truly divine. Every course left us in bliss and eagerly waiting for the next. The sushi was top quality with the finest ingredients, prepared in front of us.
Angel regaled us with stories of his fascinating travels providing insights to his training as well as discussing the sources of the cuisine.
As of this writing, Omakase is open by reservation only. The entire evening is shared between about 10 people. The menu is chef’s choice and changes depending on what he receives fresh.
We had various dishes consisting of tuna, salmon, yellow tail, lobster, crab, and the highlight Waygu beef. Yes, Waygu beef in Cape Girardeau, MO. He had real wasabi imported which took the taste to a whole different level.
Overall, a truly remarkable meal. Perfect for any special occasion.

WOW! I’ve never salivated at the sight or description of sushi before that happened tonight! We also ate tuna that melted in our mouth, heard hilarious stories, and watched the Sushi chef as he made all of our courses for our meal. Currently, the restaurant runs through reservations only-no walk-ins but this Might just be the best way to enjoy everything Angel offers.

Good people, great sushi. This is hands down the best sushi I have had. Angel is a great guy and the food is phenomenal. I highly recommend this place.

The food was fantastic! You can definitely tell the chef takes pride in his work and has all fresh ingredients. My only complaint is that the rolls are slightly smaller than what I’m used to and they were kind of falling apart.

The BEST Sushi and Bento my fiance and I have ever experienced! Real ingredients, real wasabi. Delicious! The place is small, but intimate. You can talk with the chef/owner and watch as he makes your food.

The first time I experienced dining at a traditional sushi restaurant was in Yokohama, Japan about 10 years ago and I’ve been craving that experience ever since. Dining at Omakase matches that experience by providing an intimate ambience within the restaurant and the quality, taste, and presentation of the dishes that are served. I use a wheelchair for mobility and really like that the restaurant provides handicap parking at the back of the building instead of street only parking, a ramp that is easily navigable, and alternate access to dining within the restaurant.
