As my son said “one of the best breakfast places, ever.” The food was delicious, the service was quick and attentive, despite how busy they were. The kids loved the little train that runs around the restaurant. We’ll definitely be returning.

Visited for lunch today and was super disappointed. Service was not great. It took almost an hour for our table of four to get food. One of our party never got the coffee they ordered.

I got the French Dip. The meat was closer to beef jerky than anything I’d expect of a French Dip – very chewy and tough. The fries tasted like they were made yesterday – mushy, cold, devoid of any seasoning or flavor. Both of the French Dips our party ordered were similar. The other dishes (Club Sandwich and Eggs Benedict) were received better.

The train was cool. I won’t be back.

Edit after the response I received: I understand that an unexpected crowd can slow things down – no issue there. However, there wasn’t a stream of food coming from the back to other tables either. Most tables had food when we arrived.

Barring the wait (which was the least offensive part of our visit), “come back when we’re not busy and maybe the food you’re paying us to make you will taste better” does not instill confidence.

Twonof us dined her for breakfast and both of us left disappointed. We got a pistachio muffin grilled, eggs Irish, and avocado toast both with home fries.
The grilled muffin had no color and was lightly heated. No caramelization or grill markings from the flat top.

Both of our home fries had issues, cold and some black/gray potatoes. The staff was apologetic and offered replacement fries, we denied expecting the same quality, and the staff brought us them anyways. Warmer still had black/fray potatoes, not burnt… but black/gray.

Eggs cooked perfectly, presentation was nice, no complaints on that.
Flavor tasted institutional, like the cooking staff have been weathered down by the demand of the industry, offering a lack of care to the real culinary arts.

Shame as this location is a hot spot located right on the commuter line stop near the cute downtown shops.

A few other places for breakfast within walking distance, DONT get caught by the lore. It looks cute, but expensive. We spent $60 for that meal and it sat like lead in our belly’s. This was Saturday at 930am……….I’d expect better quality on a prime day like that. Cute toy train that wraps around the establishment. Take the kids there to see this and get out.

Cute, non-pretentious, slightly old-timey breakfast & lunch cafe next to West Concord train tracks. My special sandwich of the day bbq crisp chicken came smothered with a sweet gravy – the breaded breast was flattened and sizeable. I was asked if I wanted blue cheese (ranch?) and I said sure, thinking it was part of the sandwich. Well, that made it a bit too saucy. I ate half the breast with a fork & knife and the other half, between the provided tomato, greens, bun. Homemade fries and a pineapple coke slaw were the included sides. The salad was large portioned. The atmosphere was a little old-timey with a toy train that runs around the perimeter near the ceiling. Appears a lot of locals and families eat here.

Good breakfast in a charming setting in an old train station. There is limited seating so be prepared to wait on weekends. The menu has some good selections and diverse flavors and portion size leaves you satisfied without being over full. A great place for families with the model train running along the ceiling keeping children amused.

Had breakfast on 4/7/24. Come on guys, really??? Please get it together. It could be better if whoever is cooking, gets a lesson!!

My husband’s toast was barely toasted. He ordered eggs and bacon.
I ordered eggs Benedict with salmon. My eggs were slightly under cooked. The bagel was also not toasted properly and one bagel was toasted more then the other. The coffee could be alot stronger. The orange slice was dried out. The strawberry slice was super over ripe. For the $$ they need to get it together already!! Kinda disappointed.

I’m not gonna say anything to the servers, because what are they gonna do? Someone already thought the toast, the eggs, the orange slice etc. were acceptable. If I have to send it back for repairs, that is another big inconvenience. Get it right the first time please! The place wasn’t busy, please don’t rush the food! I would rather wait longer and get the food proper.

However the service was excellent!
The kitchen needs to step it up. Its eggs and toast. Its not rocket science!! Why don’t they know how to toast bread and cook eggs??

Start properly cooking the food and then the place should be busy on a Sunday morning!!

(And they need to get a swiffer to the ceiling corners.)

I would like to try the waffles or pancakes next time. Hopefully the waffles are excellent. HINT HINT!!

The atmosphere is adorable, but if you’re not getting something sweet, don’t go. Both the breakfast burrito and Mexican skillet were exceptionally bland, and two tables that sat down after us were served before we received our food. We didn’t complain or comment, but the servers appeared to be impatient and annoyed that we were surprised. For $60 the food was overpriced and disappointing.

We had a great time here everything was delicious and fresh, and the presentation is beautiful with good sized portions. Indoor and outdoor seating available, indoor is spacious and tables are large with distancing between them I felt safe dining here. Everyone is friendly and I love to read about the historic aspects and watch the cute train loop overhead. Can’t wait to go back!

Cute little place right at the station and adjacent to the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. They have outdoor seating, though we chose to eat inside.

Stopped in West Concord to have some breakfast while riding my bike along the Bruce Freeman trail. Breakfast was delicious, nicely prepared and presented. Busy place, but service was good and attentive. Mostly indoor seating but also have a few tables outside. Looking forward to going back again.
