If you eat inside the restaurant the food is normally good. However, DO NOT order take out. They have so many mess ups with take out orders for some reason. We ordered dinner and they put a ROTTEN, SLIMY avocado on top of both me and my husbands burritos. I unfortunately was unable to return the food to the store, but I did take a picture of it. This is unacceptable.

My husband and I frequent this place a lot and love the food and the friendly staff. I have tried multiple things as a picky eater and haven’t been disappointed once. My one and only gripe (again, I’m a picky eater) is that I have never heard of peas and Lima beans being in Mexican or Spanish rice and it just threw me. Everything else is great. They even bring multiple salsas and queso to the table that are complimentary. Try the Texas margarita!

El Jalapeño is a wonderful place! The food is delicious, the service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is delightful. I went for lunch with my sister yesterday and once seated, we were immediately brought chips and salsa. The cilantro based salsa was my favorite! Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. We ordered the lunch chicken chimichanga and the fajita quesadilla. Definitely recommend this spot for grabbing a quick bite or spending time with your family. Prices are outstanding!

My wife and I came here on a empty stomach and left very satisfied. The food was very delectable! And drinks were enjoyable ! The staff and waitress all were friendly and attentive to your needs. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the quality of food and service from this restaurant. Will be coming back for sure !

I got the Super Chimichanga and this is what I get at any another Mexican restaurant. Nothing really super about it just typical in my opinion. The service was today’s poor sub-par service (meaning most restaurants fall here). I also hate to say but Mexican restaurants for me are all the same. From town to town, state to state.

Great place to eat here in Anderson, SC ❤️ The service is unique and exceptional All the food they serve here, including the chips and salsa, is made at the moment, so yes is exceptional and delicious Recommend to everyone, especially if you are a TRUCK DRIVER, there’s a parking lot in the back of the place to park and go grab something delicious and made at the moment. The first time (Dinner), I got a mocajete plate (Lunch) time the next day I got lunch mar y tierra, and both were amazing .

Any time i try a new mexican resturaunt, i order a beef enchilada. Here, i ordered a pollo California with a chicken and a beef enchilada. Definitely a family owned vibe, didnt wait long at all for food after we ordered. Would have been a better experience if it was just my wife and i. Great spot for a date night.

It was a cute place we just happened to be parked in front of. But the service and the food wasn’t great. Our waiter barely came to the table, I ordered an enchilada and the beef was very gritty and grainy, no flavor at all. My sister ordered the taco salad and it was more shell than the actual taco salad. There was something in our queso as well. We will not be returning.
