Food excellent, with gluten free options available. Service friendly and prompt although fizzy drink spilled over my partner during serving. Ambiance is the letdown of this place. Super bright cctv lights and no music made the dining experience a bit flat. Would defo recommend for takeaway next time though

Well worth going if you want to try some different Indian dishes. The Keralan menu section was incredible. The Keralan biryani was tantalisingly aromatic. In fact I first booked a table here after walking past and smelling the delicious spices – I wasn’t disappointed and neither were the rest of my family who were initially skeptical about ordering dishes they’d never tried. Highly recommended.

Fantastic meal, recommended Beef roast which was great as I was told my original choice was to dry to go with rice and naan. The chilli paneer made a pleasant change from saag paneer.

Finding genuine Indian, especially Kerala cuisine, in Gloucester is no easy task — but this restaurant is a hidden gem! The flavors were absolutely spot on, just like how we get back home. Every bite transported us to the kitchens of Kerala — rich, aromatic, and full of soul.
Portions were generous, and each dish was not only satisfying to the tummy but also comforting to the mind and soul. The staff are ever smiling and helpful!!
If you’re craving Indian food with authentic Kerala flavors, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Very tasty food especially the starters and a welcome absence of food colouring especially in the tikkas.
Very friendly service by a charming young man.
In general I avoid going to ” Indian ‘ restaurants as being of Bengali descent I find their food rather disappointing and most things tasting similar but I would happily visit Spice Mantra again

The food was superb, understandably different to many other ‘Indian’ restaurants as it’s from the south. Very well spiced, excellent portions, and very enjoyable. The service was excellent too. Be prepared to wait though, as it’s all cooked fresh.

The best tasting curry in Gloucester in my humble opinion, huge rice portions, many dishes not seen on other Restaurants in Gloucester. Service slow when busy, but worth the wait. It’s fabulous. Taken several friends there and they all agree!
