We’ve passed them on our way to visit family in West Babylon many times. But it’s usually for a family gathering with plenty of food, so we were never able to stop in. This time, we were just stopping by to help with computer problems. Hubby is IT. Yay, we got to try this Haitian restaurant finally!
We got Beef Legume and Black Rice, this is so good!!! The black rice was so flavorful that you could eat it without anything else. Oxtail with Black Rice was tasty, but the oxtail could be more tender.
We took everything back to his nephew’s house. He has 2 little ones, and neither he nor the kids ever had Haitian food. Everyone loved it! Even the pikliz! LOL
Will definitely try to go back next time we are in the area!

Absolutely the worst experience ever. I went here because I was in town and I am Trinidadian descent. So when I googled restaurants nearby I automatically wanted to try this place out. First off I waited approximately 45 mins to be served when there was only 3 customers ahead of me. I had a chance to look at the food. Didnt see the mac n cheese so I asked if they had mac n cheese before I wait. the woman said yes we do. So i see the picture of the mac and cheese and i ended up waiting an additional 30 mins. The lady was by her self and clearly couldn’t multi task cause when someone spoke to her she completely froze up. Here comes a woman from the back to add rice to a mostly full tray. Most restaurants would switch it out not pile fresh food on top of old food. I should have left after seeing this. But no I wanted to get this nearly 5 star food. So the second lady goes to the back to most likely do something unproductive. I would go on and on about how poorly managed this place is but their is a simple fix.have 1 or 2 people serving the food and one person at the register.and get rid of all the presets the hitting the name of dishes. That only works on touch screens. So after 45 mins of me waiting and asking nicely I finally get helped. Only to be half helped. Clearly the workers cannot multitask. Anyway the mac and cheese wasn’t good the veggie thing was good and whatever rubber like meat was horrible. I will not ever go back again.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE, FOOD ARE SOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE, TASTELESS YOU CAN CAN SEE RIGHT THROUGH THE SWEET POTATO CAUSE IT’S SO SMALL AND THIN. I was curious about this place so l stopped in for a few minutes. I asked to see if the curry goat was available but she said not really but could give me a sample. It must have taken them at least five minutes before they came back out with a small little cup and a fork so I tasted it. The meat was very dry not even moist matter of fact very hard. Then l asked about the oxtail and she replied it will cost you $16 for the plate. Although the place was clean there was only one lady, a helper and I guess the chef in the back. Not very good service. I don’t recommend this place. If all the dishes cost $16.00 for the small plate what do you think the large serving platter will be?? Adios!!

I ordered a serving of griot. Not only they send me about 6 small pieces of pure fat. I can’t eat all that fat from specially pork. Why the rice was not separate from the meat. The legumes taste very good but they put it in a small plate next to the white rice. You need to visit these two places to see how they serve food.1 Taste of the Islands restaurant:in Hempstead and Creole buffet in Uniondale.These two places serve enough for the money. Super friendly staff and super fast and delicious food. The restaurant is clean and tidy and you can really tell that the owner is proud of her Haitian heritage and that really shows in her food, which was fresh and hot. I will definitely be returning next time I’m in Long Island. Customer service was amazing, she really made me feel like I was at home. I had never had Haitian food before, the owner guided me through what she had to offer and also let me taste before I purchased and she definitely knows her stuff. I ended up getting the stew chicken with rice and Legume. Delicious!
