We finally stopped in here, after having passed the place a hundred times, and were pleasantly surprised. It was clean and comfortable, actually kind of cozy. This could be because it reminded us of a place we used to go to every Friday afternoon many years ago… but back to today . There was some country music playing through the speakers to accompany the good ol’ fashioned cheeseburger and fries. The husband got the flounder plate, and as picky as he is, he quite enjoyed it. The hushpuppies, though, now those were some truly good and tasty hushpuppies . The gal who waited on us was super friendly and helpful, and we do indeed plan on stopping in more.

Had fish sandwiches. The fillets hung 3 inches off the fresh bun. Also had delicious hushpuppies. They were slightly overcooked but we ate every one. They offer homemade desserts as well. My birthday was last week and they still gave Mr a free piece of cake. Quality food. We will drive 45 minutes yo go back and eat here again.

A great find! The cod sandwich was freshly-fried, served thick and juicy in under 10 minutes – also perhaps one of the BEST fish sandwiches I’ve eaten in my life! The house-made slaw on the sandwich was great, too. The owner is very nice, and you can tell he cares about what he’s serving. The next time I’m driving through this way, I will go here again!

I had posted a five star review when the new owner first put it under his management and i started going when i was into town. Guy from florida and with passion. Three months later it seems the place has been left in the care of some people who do not share that same vision and can be off putting. Mother and son combination where the son has uncomfortable and concerning amount of energy. The mother was welcoming but seemed to meet my wife with fiction over the fact that she and her son claim the owner is watching and she cant order a kids single hotdog (because 3 is the only other option) because shes not a kid. This owner i have met and he would not care. Then wanted to charge .80c per hotdog ($2.40) for cheese which is charging 45% of each hotdog for a slice of cheap cheese. Burger was ready in 3 mins and was of course still raw in the center. I appreciate the speed but ill take the health and wished he would not have rushed. He was being picked up by someone after brining my order out so maybe needed to leave.

The fish plate advertises that you get “one BIG piece” of fish and the flounder I got was smaller than any seafood place in the area serves.
The slaw is pureed into almost pulp and the hush puppies were over cooked.
The popcorn shrimp is so tiny is very outweighed by breader.
The cheese fries were the best thing we ordered.
The mozzarella sticks were decent but no marinara sauce…

UPDATE: You never told us we had a choice about the water! We have never heard of any restaurant that unilaterally serves water without disclosing that it’s coming from a bottle and $2.50 each. Appreciated the pie but in total we were still overcharged!…Will never go back there. Was overcharged for a party of 4, and charged $2.50 each for WATER (arrived in normal glasses with ice) and not told in advance of the cost. They would not correct the overcharge even after admitting it was their error! Seriously!??? Who does this and expects people to return to their business????
