We chose Zen Chinese Bistro to celebrate our large Staff Christmas Dinner and we were so happy we did! The food was absolutely delicious and brought out in a timely manner all our guests loved the Huge variety of cuisine to enjoy as part of the family style dinner options! We had such a wonderful time on the second floor of the restaurant and had it all to ourselves. Our servers were Excellent and provided courteous and friendly service. Anything that was needed our guests were immediately tended to! We brought our own selection of holiday music. We truly enjoyed amazing food, cocktails and great company!

During our visit to Portland, we decided to satisfy our craving for Chinese food at Zen Chinese Bistro. Our order included the Crispy Rice & Chicken Soup, Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, both served with white rice, and a side of egg rolls to go.
The Crispy Rice & Chicken Soup was delightful, and the Kung Pao Chicken was decent. However, the Orange Chicken left much to be desired – it was hard, dry, and the sauce didn’t live up to our expectations. Overall, our dining experience was average.
The ambiance of the restaurant felt a little lackluster, and the cleanliness was subpar, which detracted from the overall dining atmosphere.
While our visit didn’t meet all of our expectations, it’s worth noting that the soup and Kung Pao chicken were highlights of the meal. It’s possible that others may have different experiences, and we hope that the restaurant can address the issues we encountered.

I have lived in Portland my entire life and had never been here. We came in and decided to dine in. The resturant is so nice and well decorated. The bar area is beautiful. The service was fantastic, and the food was phenomenal. The portions are also very large, it was nice to have left overs for lunch the next day. Will definitely be back!

I came here to buy sesame beef. You can have it with white rice or brown rice. The portion is great and it’s also very delicious. They open every day for take outs and deliveries but dine-in is available only 4 days a week after 5 pm.

Standout Chinese restaurant in Portland. The owner, Kamal, was very kind and let us dine in. They don’t offer much dine in since they can’t keep staff. We live about an hour away and needed a place to eat after the Christmas concert. My 95 year old grandmother had requested Chinese food that we could take to her, so we were glad to be able to takeaway from here.
We had hot and sour soup, pork dumplings, and bbq spareribs for apps. For dinner, we had Singapore rice noodles, sweet and sour chicken, beef with peapods, and pork fried rice. Absolutely delicious.
We can’t thank Kamal enough for his hospitality! We’ll be back when we’re in town.

We found Zen Chinese bistro due to a Groupon so we were pleasantly surprised to see how nice it was inside and how great the food was. The dumplings were absolutely delicious and the portions are huge you definitely get what you pay for and the service is fantastic as well. I would highly recommend going here even without a Groupon.

I was recommended this place by a couple of my Uber passengers a while back and I am just getting around to trying it out.
The atmosphere was a pleasantly well kept, modern, and comfortable.
I couldn’t find my “go to” General Tsao Chicken dish, so I asked the waitress who immediately obliged.
It was hands down the BEST version I’ve ever had. Super healthy portion. Amazing spices. Received my order very quickly.
Price was reasonable.
Definitely going again.
