Absolutely exceeded expectations and is now on my must-return list. The DTLA location can be tricky for street parking, but plenty of public parking nearby—and it’s perfect for a post-meal city walk with great bars around (Death & Co is right next door!).

The food was consistently impressive. The savory cream puff was a fun opener. The Sea Bream with uni, cucumber, and apple granita was stunning—refreshing, creative, and incredibly well-balanced. The Scallop was the dish that truly wowed us, especially with the sauce that we ended up finishing with bread. The Chicken was surprisingly outstanding—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Ribeye was visually impressive but overly salty for our taste. The Kiwi dessert was refreshing and beautifully layered, and the complimentary madeleine at the end was delicious enough that we asked for another.

Service was good but the food is not worth Michelin star. Oysters were lukewarm, steak was too salty, seasonal vegetables were literally just steamed asparagus. Presentation of the onion soup was very creative but there was nothing special with the taste. Scallop was ok. The complimentary truffle cheese amuse bouche tasted the best. I have been to a lot of fine dining restaurants but I have never seen a single place charging 3% credit card fee to the customer. If I pay less than $10~15 with card then I will understand but if I’m spending over $300 you guys definitely make enough to pay the card fee yourself. The food price itself is already over priced for what you get. Tip is also after tax.

All dishes were good, except for Ribeye. Ribeye was expensive menu but the sauce on the meat didnt harmonize with the meat. It had too strong flavor and smell.

We had the Onion Tartine with the Oysters to start, followed by the Rib Eye (Medium Rare) and Agrodolce Chicken as our mains, accompanied by the potatoes and seasonal veggies (asparagus). To drink I had a Trocadero.

Everything was exceptional, the drink especially. I was happy with the service with the only possible mention being that the staff seems a tad unsure, at times, in their interactions with guests. Other than that, well worth the cost, and the Chicken was phenomenal, truly well done in all aspects, especially the sauce.

Came in to celebrate my dad’s birthday and everything was beyond wonderful! We ordered a bit more than half the menu and every single item stood out on its own and was memorable. I normally don’t order chicken when eating out but the chicken breast was one of the most unique and well prepared chicken items we’ve ever had. The tartar, oysters, onion tartine, baguette and chèvre butter WOW, scallop, asparagus… literally everything was to die for. The martini was also unbelievable. Cant wait to come back for the burger.

Truly one of those experiences you have to feel for yourself. The food was outstanding, the service flawless, and the music set the perfect tone. What began as a casual date night became an instant favorite. Grateful for the hospitality, already planning our return.

I had a wonderful dinner here! The space is chic and inviting, and the team was attentive from the moment we walked in. Our server, Noah, was knowledgeable and guided us perfectly through the menu. We enjoyed the table side Dover sole, which was deboned flawlessly and absolutely phenomenal, highly recommend. The mocktails were all delicious, and the marzipan dessert was incredible. The vibe is elevated and elegant, yet still hip. Overall, a 10/10 experience!

So we tried Camphor on a steak frites pre-fixe night, and it was good but not really the mind-blowing experience we’d heard from various other reviews. That said, my husband and I are both big time foodies and he’s French, so we were committed to finding a top-tier French restaurant in the city we could call our spot for special occasions or an escape from LA.

We came back last night and asked our lovely server Ashley to suggest their best hits! We tried their bread and butter, radicchio salad (OMG YUM), scallops dish, steak au poivre, frites, and their bread pudding (!!!!). And WOW, truly, a French culinary adventure. They start the experience with an amuse-bouche, and then the food came out (at a very nice pace I might add). The radicchio salad came out first followed by the bread and butter, and where do I even beginnn! I’ve had my share of radicchio salads in my life and this took the cake. It was fresh, perfectly dressed, and had some hearty pieces of the most delicious parmigiana cheese. Yum yum yum! My husband was obsessed. The bread came out hot and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with the most delicious butter/cheese spread. I had the butter alone because I’m sensitive to the more pungent cheeses, but my husband loved it. And I will say, even the butter alone with sea salt was delectable. Next the scallops came out in a truffle sauce that was just insane. They’re encased in a thin pasta or dumpling exterior, and they were just divine. Melted in your mouth, I almost ordered another, but we had the steak coming. The steak was a perfect steak au poivre. The best I’ve had since I was in Paris, and perfectly cooked. The sauce was on point as well. The steak is a little on the fattier side, but where there’s far there’s flavor! So, we went with it and cut around the fatty bits, and the steak was very tender and flavorful. And that sauce, Dios mio, the perfect place to dip your frites!! Do it! Yummyyy! Finally, we were pretty full at this point, but the table next to us sold us on the bread pudding they were enjoying, so we obviously had to try it. And, omg I’m so glad we did. It is not a heavy bread pudding, they use brioche which is lighter and they bake it with a creme anglaise with chocolate chunks between the layers. It was giving pain perdu with a twist, and it was beyond delicious. It was truly a decadent indulgence that was just the cherry on top of a delicious dining experience. Oh and we also tried their mango refresher, forgetting the name, and it was so perfect. Had we not had so much food coming, we would have ordered another. All in all: delicious food, lovely service, a romantic and intimate ambiance. We’ll definitely be back soon!!

I’ve heard such great things about Camphor, so it was only necessary for me to book a reservation for my birthday. I had high expectations! It started off well and there were dishes that I thoroughly enjoyed and others that were underwhelming. Towards the end of the meal, it started to go downhill. For this price point, I was disappointed with the service. We tried their most popular items which included onion tartine, oysters (prefer the smaller ones), tartare, scallops and chicken for our main. The desserts were impressionable and I would come back for this alone! The dishes were filling and their drinks were good. Ambience was cozy. It was crowded and lively. Good for people watching. There’s valet available, which was convenient.

This was place was nice, its at the bottom of Michelin stars I’ve visited. But the $50 inkind coupon helped get it to 5 stars.

Menu is in transition, so there were a bunch of things missing. The specialty items require advanced notice.

French fries were good along with the dips.

Negroni cocktail was veryyy good.

The salad was decent, sweet, no tang.

Steak was super tender, but not very peppery.

Kiwi desert was fantastic, shaved ice marzipan was ok I wish I would have tried the chocolate desert.

InKind will have 40% sales occasionally, get the sale and try the restaurant.

Pregame across the street at the brewery, its fantastic.
