If you’re looking for the BEST Indian food in Orangevale, look no further than Clay Oven Indian Cuisine (8807 Greenback Ln, Orangevale, CA 95662)! This new gem is absolutely amazing, and the Punjabi owners are a delight to meet. Priya, the manager, goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome.

We started with the samosas, and wow – they were on another level! Hot and crispy on the outside, perfectly spiced filling inside, and that magical “time release” effect where the flavor hits you a few seconds after the first bite… OMG, pure heaven! ✨

Next up, the Aloo tikis – so good I finished two in one go! And let me just say, the Tamarind sauce deserves an Oscar award – tangy, rich, and the perfect complement to every bite.

To end on a sweet note, we tried the Mango Lassi – creamy, refreshing, and absolutely hit it out of the park. Each dish was so authentic it reminded me of the dhabas back in Punjab!

I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Please do yourself a favor and check out this amazing local restaurant. Best Indian food in Orangevale, hands down!

This was by far the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Service was terrible, food had absolutely no flavor or spice. The tables around us still had plates on from previous diners, that should have been our first red flag. We ordered chicken tikka appetizer, samosa and veg pakora. With chicken tikka masala. The samosas were dripping with grease, the only good part about the meal was the veg pakoras.

Saturday evening 5pm, we were the only customers. Should have turned around and left. Ordered vegetable samosas, never got them.
No white wine, only red available. No beer at all. No tandoori anything. Horrible experience.
How is this restaurant even in business. While we were there, not even one go order pickup of any kind. Stay away!!

Their papad was great. The paneer tikka sizzler was simply amazing! Veg thali was good. The Entree in veg thali was a full serving bowl and other items are just a couple of spoons full. Thali could have been balanced better so that we can enjoy all the thali items. Aloo tikki chat was good. Dal makhani was creamy and good. All gravy dishes (shahi paneer and paneer tikka masala and malai kofta) tasted same and may be because of same gravy base. Mixed veg curry was great.
Garlic naans are good. Tandoori roti was ok and didn’t feel like whole wheat bread. Gobi and aloo parantas were ok.

Great Service and AMAZING food! Jaspal Uncle Ji offers great hospitality to all customers! Our family had a party of about 30 ppl and they made sure we were all satisfied and were serving us the entire time we were there. They also offer great catering services and are always on time with their fresh food. Make sure to check them out when you are in the Sacramento area!

I love this place. When it’s OPEN, that is! I’ve been trying to come here for four days straight, and the place has been closed every day. Anyone know if they’ve gone out of business?
Update. They were closed for a few days, but are now back open! I went and had a delicious lunch there just yesterday!

Terrible customer service they don’t talk they do not interact just mumble and no smile feels awkward the food no flavor empty dirty dishes on other tables left for more than 30 minutes no one picks it up seats have crumbs on it just good prices nothing else very slow no other customers we were the only ones please save the trip find another Indian place to eat this one ain’t worth it! I am Indian I would know.

Go here exactly what you want for Indian! Portions are large and the naan bread is awesome butter chicken and tikka the sauce for the samosas is just what you expect! Soo good! We ordered 2 entrees and a trio of naan bread with samosas for appetizers! Sooo much food took leftovers home!! Really good food! Local too! I ate the leftovers!!!
