No complaints! First visit and the 3 rolls we got were really good! It was really cool to see the robot roaming around and service was great! Next time, I may come hungrier to try out the all-you-can eat option which goes for $31 pp I believe.

Glowing Review for Genki – Hamden, CT
If you’re anywhere near North Haven and craving incredible Japanese food, Genki is a must-visit. For just $23.99, their all-you-can-eat lunch is an unbeatable deal that delivers both quality and variety.
Start with the Pork Katsu — perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served with a savory sauce that ties it all together. The Chicken Ramen is comfort in a bowl — rich broth, tender chicken, and springy noodles that hit the spot every time. And don’t miss the Teriyaki Beef — flavorful, tender, and glazed to perfection with just the right balance of sweetness and char.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Genki without the sushi — always fresh, beautifully plated, and generously portioned. The service is quick and friendly, the atmosphere is cozy yet modern, and you leave feeling completely satisfied (and maybe just a little too full).
✨ Pro tip: Come hungry — you’ll want to try everything!

Definitely not “all you can eat.” More like all that the management will permit you to eat. 4/5 on the food. Sushi rolls are well made with lots of variety. The sushimi offerings are great! The chicken meat seems a bit cheap.
Food aside – let’s get down to brass tax. I agree with other reviews here… they act surprised/offput when you order over a certain amount and seem to draw out bringing items. I don’t feel like our table order was that much for two. They actually cut us off a full customer allotment of 10 sushimi. There were two of us and they zeroed us out after only one customers allotment. After only two sheets, they brought us the check without the option to submit more orders. No offer for dessert and our server repeatedly hovered over us, over visited our table for empty dishes…. And before handing us the check without us asking, he stood over my wife before our platter was completely done and asked if she was going to eat it. He proceeded to stand there while she rushed to stuff her mouth under pressure. That, to me is rude and not worthy of a gratuity.
As it happens, we were nearing our fill. But All you can eat should be exactly as advertised. Shouldn’t push your customers out the door.

Our new favorite AYCE sushi place. It’s just an hour away but well worth time and price which is quite fair considering selection and quality. Been 3 times in the last 4 months so due another visit just need an excuse. Food comes quickly and they don’t seem to be skimping so not sure how many cooks they got hidden because the place has been busy to packed each time. Love the robot signing happy birthday as well. Sister loves the octopus and kids love the desert roll. I like spicy rolls and they got some selection there as well. Just over 30/person less for the kids at dinner.

This place has clearly a lot going for it – from fair pricing to a wonderfully creative menu and great presentation. We tried a wide range of dishes, including the Spicy Tuna Pizza, Hawaii Salad, and Mango Salmon roll – all thoughtfully prepared and visually impressive.
The sushi boat was a real highlight, beautifully plated with generous portions that made it easy to try lots of different rolls. We also enjoyed the dessert sushi which was fun and tasty as well as the fresh sashimi platter served over ice.
While not every dish was an absolute standout, everything we had was fresh, good quality, and enjoyable. The friendly service, nice decor, and creative plating made for a great overall dining experience. Definitely a place worth returning to!

Want ALL-You-Can-Eat sushi at an unbelievable price? Then Genki is the place for you!! All the specialty rolls are absolutely delicious and fresh. They also have a little bit of everything for the picky eaters in your family. Gyoza, fried rice, bao buns, etc. They truly have something for everyone and their prices are unbeatable for the quality of food you get. $21.99 for the AYCE lunch. You can barely get 3 rolls anywhere for that price. My family and I have been here three times in the last 6months in spite of the fact that we live over an hour away.

What a great all-you-can-eat experience! The ambiance was great, and the robot server is a fun novelty that I would come back to experience again. All of the sushi was tasty, and I appreciated how many non-sushi items they had on the menu too. I also haven’t seen a restaurant have a dessert sushi roll! It was tasty and unique. Such a great addition to Hamden!

For the price I would say this is a great deal and the menu has a lot of options if you don’t eat sushi. My favorite by far was the tempura – it always came out fresh. The yellow tail was also the best fish in my opinion very fresh! For an ayce place the fish to rice ratio is not bad. We did have some leftover sushi because we may have ordered too much and they did not charge us for waste, but it was not that much so be warned. The service was mid to be honest. The food came out fast and fresh, but the server was not super helpful when it came to remembering our drinks and answering any questions we had. I would go again.

Wow, what an incredible experience, it’s hard to find the words to describe! My husband and I did the all you can eat, and what a pleasant surprise to find out that the all you can eat option includes almost everything on the menu! For $30 a person, it was an amazing deal! We couldn’t stop smiling as we sampled the soup, salad, dumplings, chicken wings, teriyaki, ice cream, and so much more. It was so nice the way they served it because they don’t give you too much, just a sampling at a time so that you don’t get too full and can keep trying other dishes. The best part, in my opinion, was the sushi. We ordered the Spider-man roll, the tuna lovers roll, and the pepper tuna roll. Oh my goodness. So delicious, every single piece, absolutely melts in your mouth. The flavors are so complimentary and the freshness of the fish is perfection. When I tell you that it’s been three days and I still can’t stop thinking about the food… I cannot wait to go back again. I am counting down the days. Besides the out of this world food, the staff were excellent and the service was very quick. There was even a little robot server that would bring out the food when the staff was busy with something else! So cool! We will absolutely be coming back soon with our friends. You will not be disappointed, please try this place!

The food was amazing. We did the all you can eat options. Every item that we choose was good. The portion sizes were just right that you had enough of an item to enjoy but not get you stuffed.
I will be returning and telling others about this place.
