Warm, casual eatery offering Italian plates such as pasta, salad & meat dishes plus wine & beer.

Very cozy and relaxing. We didn’t take that many pictures because we were enjoying the moment. Table of 5, great service and wonderful food! We drove an hour and it was definitely worth it! We had several other appetizers, the roasted garlic was amazing.

While doing business in Howell, the description of this restaurant caught my attention. Italian food sounded wonderful, so I drove to Cello on the suggestion of a Howell local. When I arrived, a sandwich board with a photo of their Sausage and Peppers, with a healthy dollop of ricotta, looked very enticing. The atmosphere is quite cozy, with booths lining inside of the restaurant. The menu is quite simple, but delicious; the service was attentive, friendly, and fantastic. The place highly encourages trying a variety of dishes and sharing amongst everyone at the table. I split the spaghetti and meatballs, the lemon spaghetti, and the mascarpone polenta (much like a rich corn grit portage). Also, since I noted that I’ve never been here before, our server came back with a sample of their arancini in their house red sauce. The visit was capped by perfect pours of their house-made limoncello and creamy limoncello. Certainly, this was the highlight of the evening. The strength of the house-made limoncello alone makes me want to return more sooner than later.

Very cute place! We went for our anniversary, and the food was good. We did a few starters as well as a few small plates to share. A small plate is enough for one or two people (depending on your appetite).
The gelato was out of this word! I would come back for that alone!!
The decor inside is cute, and the lighting is good so you won’t need a flashlight to read the menu (sometimes that’s hard in Italian spots)!
We really enjoyed our waitress, Sloan. When we come back I’ll walk in and sing “Sloan Sloan, she’s our girl! If she can’t serve us, no one will!” Lol! But really, she made our night by helping two newbies navigate the menu and wine pairings.
There is street parking out front and also a parking lot in the back! There are no stairs to the front of the restaurant making it wheelchair accessible (but there are two doors to go through from the front)!

I am so glad we went to Cello’s in Howell for dinner. We had a party of 6 adults and everything was fantastic. Our server, Emily, was very enthusiastic about the menu and restaurant itself. Her suggestions were spot on. I ordered the Carbonara that was incredible. I’m not a fan of gnocchi, but had a taste of the Wild Mushroom Gnocchi and now I’m torn of what to order when I go back. Even those that ordered the Angel Hair Marinara with a meatball added loved their dishes. The Caesar Salad could have been better but wasn’t terrible just different. We’re definitely a fan!

My wife and I went for the first time for a date night recently. The service was absolutely top notch and could not have been better. Friendly, attentive, offering suggestions and helping guide us through our first time there.
The food itself was mostly outstanding. The special that night of butternut squash ravioli, with an apple-sage cream sauce, was the best squash ravioli I have ever had. Their marinara was perfectly blended and seasoned and we appreciated the sampler of arancini with it to start. The limoncello creme brule at the end was flavored delicately, without being too tart, and is clearly a highlight of theirs.
I want to acknowledge their Caesar salad was not our favorite, as it was heavily acidic, to the point of being somewhat off-putting. However, when this was mentioned in passing they immediately rectified this and even removed a portion of our bill (which we were not asking for nor expecting) which just shows care and fantastic service.
The place itself is cozy and narrow but a fun dining environment.
We will most certainly plan to be back and look forward to it.

Good tasting food and cooked perfectly. Would recommended the lemoncello chicken and the salmon. The polenta is great! Had a 6:30 reservation. Was seated around 6:45. As good food does, it took a while to be prepared. Most Italian restaurants will bring a complementary basket of bread to the table. This place used to, but no longer does. Crystal, the bartender, was our server, as they sat us at a small hightop in the bar area. She was very professional and good. The carrot cake is great for dessert. Would have given a 5 star, but when you stay people late and have long preparation times on your dishes, a small basket of complementary starches feels appropriate. Especially when it was $100 for the two of us (without cocktails). Again, very good tasting food, cooked well, and good service.

Every time I have been to Cellos, Emily S. has been our server! She is my all time favorite server. So kind and knowledgeable. I have never had a poor experience at Cellos. The staff, atmosphere, the food….dont even get me started on the food. Truly nice of my favorite spots and a treat when we are able to go!

I wish I’d taken photos, but next time. It’s quite a long drive for us, so we haven’t been here in a long time. My wife and I came for a special event and re-remembered how great this place is. Our server (Emily) was friendly, attentive, prompt and very flexible to the way we dragged things out by getting small plate after small plate. The food itself was just perfect. We had about 4 different dishes and all were about a good as possible. The atmosphere was reminiscent of smallish Italian restaurants we’ve eaten at in both Chicago’s and Boston’s “Little Italy” neighborhoods. What a gem for Howell. If you enjoy Italian food, go here. 6 stars, not 5.

Wow!!!!! What an incredible dining experience!! Everything about this dinner was amazing. Our server made excellent recommendations and stated she had worked at the restaurant since she was 16 years old because she enjoys the food so much
The pastas are all handmade daily and you can walk by in the back and see them making them. Tonight if they were making the tortellinis by hand and you could see the freshness!
The arugula salad was dressed perfectly with the perfect amount of goat cheese.
If you’re a party of two, you may not want to get the roasted garlic as it is absolutely delicious but a very large portion when there are so many other excellent choices.
The menu is well done considering they offer the options of smaller and larger portions. I recommend one appetizer to split as well as one small pastas. Plus have one of the protein dishes.
We cannot wait to go back again!!
