Under the new ownership the food is absolutely incredible. I have been to a LOT of Indian buffets. The selection here is not only incredible and so unique to other buffets, but the quality is extraordinary and totally delicious! The weekday lunch buffet included filter coffee and rose milk – a very nice touch and both were delicious. They mentioned that there is even more selection on the weekend buffet. Can’t wait to try that. Thank you for improving this restaurant..it’s now my favorite!

I ordered some lunch for pick up. I got the butter chicken (mild) with garlic naan and a mango lassi. It was really good. It did have a little spice to it which I liked. It was one of the best butter chicken dishes I’ve ever had. Very flavorful and full of spices. I could tell they really took their time preparing the food. Aside from that, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were really nice and welcoming. It’s a shame I ordered takeout. I plan to come back and dine-in with my family.

The aromas are the first thing that you notice when walking into this place. The warmth and spices simply invite you in. I highly recommend both the vegetarian and meat entrees and appetizers.

We’ve tried many of the local places. We usually go to another well ranked restaurant a few blocks away but now think that Taj is the tastiest. It has a good amount of meat in the dishes. The garlic naan is also our favorite here. It’s now become our local go to.

What an amazing spot with the best buffet. My son loves treating me to their endless supply of curry and naan during lunch and ordering chicken tikka masala for dinner. William and Manny are amazing servers, so sweet to see them every time we stop by. If you love Indian food you will love Taj of Marin.

I absolutely love Taj of Marin! The customer service is just wondeful, waiters are so kind and attentive. I love their vegetarian options. Many to choose from with a fantastic taste. They also offer lunch buffet with affordable prices. Definitely recommend!

This used to be one of my favorite Indian restaurants to go to in San Rafael however over the last few years it has taken a real turn for the worst. I was there in January and the food was good they don’t have their all you can eat which is sad but their food was still good however I went there a couple of weeks ago and it was terrible. There were only a couple patrons in the restaurant and the servers were standing over us like they were our boss waiting for us to finish our meals so they could clean up and get us out. It’s sad how our politicians are creating scarcity of products so that their political donors can profit the most but it has the most effect on small businesses and local communities. I’m not sure if this is the reason for their downturn but I know it’s the downturn for a lot of small businesses

The food was alright but not good. Rice is $4 extra and does not come with any of the entree dishes. I’ve eaten at a couple dozen different Indian restaurants across 6 major cities in the US. All of them rice is included with the entree dishes, it’s literally how those dishes are meant to be eaten. Place was also literally empty at 6 pm.

It beaks my heart to write this but it needs to be said. Taj has been a major part of the soul of Marin County and San Rafael. When I walked in today for dinner, there wasn’t a single human being at the tables. Their food is phenomenal, their service is tremendous, their servers are very kind. They deserve better from us Marinites. I’d love to see the entirety of the restaurant with filled seating, bustlling with business and commotion. They deserve the best, because they have given us our best. Namaste and love from our family to yours. ❤️❤️❤️
