Roni’s Mac Bar in Ames is such a fun and welcoming spot! The service was very attentive, and the team was genuinely friendly and thankful to be serving their customers, which really stood out. I loved how many options there were to customize my dish. You can truly make your mac and cheese exactly how you want it.

I’ve been itching to get to Roni’s for years now! I was so excited when they finally opened one up in Iowa! I got noodles, pulled pork, corn, extra cheese, and garlic sauce with a side of cheesey garlic bread and it was so good. It was way more food than I could eat so I took half home for my husband to enjoy. It was kind of pricey but we got two meals out of it and it was so good! We’ll definitely be back!

This is such a unique restaurant. You get to create your own Mac & cheese bowl or sandwich. You pick your noodles, things to go inside and sauce. I got a lot of veggies in mine with the bbq sauce on the side. It was good but I wish it had more cheese. They give you the option to add more cheese which I would recommend if you like cheesy Mac. My daughter got a Mac & cheese sandwich which she truly enjoyed.

The food is hot, the overall service is very quick and friendly, it’s a very clean establishment.
The Mac and cheese is super watery.
The price is way too much for what you’re getting, if you did want to try it, I recommend the grilled cheese instead, but the quality of the Mac n cheese is very poor.

Brought my family of 6 here for the first time today. Ordering is a breeze, I love the option of a self ordering kiosk. Fun games to play for the kids while they wait for their food. Price is right for what you receive, it’s actually a large bowl of Mac. A full meal for sure. Cheesy garlic is also delicious.

super busy when I went (understandable bc they’re very new). Ordered at their kiosk but it didn’t print my ticket so it got lost in all the orders. I went up after a while of waiting and they apologized, promptly made my meal, and comped my meal. What a fantastic loaded potato experience. My husband and I finished our food and looked at each other and said “that’ll happen again”. Wow! Hot and fresh veggies on a fluffy potato. What more could you ask for! Food was hot in temperature when it arrived so a testament to the DD driver AND the folks who made the meal. Great concept, you’ve automatically got two new fans.

The food was so good! I got a Mac n cheese with Gouda, brisket, an bbq sauce. Cheesecake was great too! The restaurant was just a bit warm inside compared to it being 70 outside and it seemed a bit smoky as well. Also with how busy the location is, it would be nice if they had restrooms with stalls rather than 1 restroom for each gender. Genuinely no complaints about the food though!
