Absolute gem tucked in the Milepost Zero food hall. Came here because I visited his other locations (Adobo food truck at an event I went to that brought me to adobo the restaurant/bar on Federal and then had to try out MoonRise in wheat ridge as I’ve continuously had great experiences), and again blew it out of the park!
Best bbq I’ve had in Denver, possibly ever
(Pictures of menu, I forgot to take a picture of my sandwich)

Not great, the brisket was super chewy and the cornbread was wrapped in plastic. They didn’t have any butter either. Fries were good.

Whoever raised this over two stars doesn’t know anything about food or Texas BBQ or barbecue in general this place is disgustingly salty first time I’ve had salty BBQ

I don’t write reviews often. But this was just awful and I felt the overwhelming need to warn other patrons, to literally not waste their money. I order the pork ribs and they were soooo tough, I couldn’t even cut them with a plastic knife. the mac and cheese had no flavor (but was cheesy, so I guess there’s that?) The Okra was I guess the best and only thing I really ate. I mean to each their own, try it at your own risk… Just don’t say that I didn’t warn you!

Never trust a bbq joint that doesn’t weigh out your food in front of you.
I ordered a full pound of the pulled pork. A man sat down next to next to me, I asked if he had ordered the same. He told me he had ordered a quarter pound. Our plates were identical.
$34 for what was essentially a pulled pork sandwich and fries. Highway robbery. And of course the 5% mandatory service fee was included! On food I paid for but didn’t receive.
The food is fine if you actually get what you paid for.

Ordered the brisket and got two slices of pure fat. I’m not sure how you rate the service when don’t even interact with a human, you order from a kiosk and pick it up yourself (they still want a tip though of course). The sides are the size of a little ketchup cup. Pass.

Drove 30 minutes to the place only for a worker that was feeling lazy to shoo us away by telling us that “he isn’t doing restaurant week anymore” as an irritated response after asking him politely about restaurant week. In other words, he told us that we were on our way out as soon as we arrived there. Fortunately, there were other neighboring places nearby that I went to that I enjoyed thanks to my quick decision to eat somewhere else.
Edit: We there at 7:30pm and it closes at 8pm so it wasn’t closed.

Brisket was fatty which is ok but could have used a hold for a few more hours. Ribs were tough and could have used a couple more hours. Sausage was dry and not much of a smoke flavor to any of it. Not good texas bbq by any means. Will not order again.

Great food truck to get a great BBQ sandwich. We found this spot when we were out for a bike ride and need something to eat. It was at Moonrise and we found a great spot for our family to hang out. Couldn’t believe how good the food was. The atmosphere was amazing and the service was great. I’d recommend it to anyone.

People don’t take my reviews seriously because of my name but I love this bbq. Denver needs staple places like this to become staples to all locals and visitors alike. We should rally around places such as Gayle’s as to keep what humanity is, alive. Support one another, eat good food with each other.. have a good time and eat even better food.
