My go to spot now! The fish is so fresh, and service is always amazing. All the servers and chefs are super nice and it’s just a very welcoming environment. No complaints whatsoever in the times I’ve been here, definitely the best in San Marcos! My favorite has to be the crispy rice with spicy tuna, it’s so crunchy and delicious. Everything I’ve had just sets the bar so high! The prices are also so reasonable for the amazing quality. Great restaurant!

This place is SUCH a hidden gem in San Marcos. We were blown away by the freshness and incredible combo of flavors each fish and roll had to offer!!!
Their Sushi Combo B ($36) which comes with 8pcs of sushi and one speciality roll is perfect if you want a balance of nigiris and a roll! Each piece of fish was sooo good!!
Another great shareable item if you wanna treat yourself a bit is their Sashimi Combo A ($21) which has 9 pcs of sashimi (salmon, tuna and yellowtail)…not exaggerating but im obsessed w their salmon and yellowtail

If you’re a big popcorn chicken fan from TapEx, the karaage from Sushi On kind of resembles that, and I LOVE IT!!!
I used to not like rolls because I felt like often times there were too much fillers and it was always average, BUT at Sushi On, it feels like they have unique takes and flavors in their rolls that is not only super good and enjoyable but also at a fair price. Their specialty rolls are on average $15-$16!
Can’t wait to come back!

Tried Sushi On in San Marcos and really enjoyed it. The sushi was fresh and nicely presented, with a good variety of rolls and nigiri. The portions were generous, and the flavors balanced well without being too heavy. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere felt casual but modern, making it a nice spot for both a quick bite or a sit-down dinner. Prices were fair for the quality, and we’ll definitely come back to try more of the specialty rolls.

I love this place! Sushi was fresh, staff were friendly, and service was amazing! I highly recommend calamari tempura and mushroom special. The salmon sashimi was exceptionally fresh and had a buttery texture which literally melted in my mouth! The uni was so rich and creamy. Their rolls were also impressive! I’ll definitely be returning to try more dishes. Thank you for the quality food 🙂

Busy, family friendly, fresh fish
We arrived during it like Happy hour and they were very kind enough to remind us. The happy hour menu was pretty legit. With gyoza, two different deep fried rolls and two other rolls along with edamame and one or two other options. I also got a large hot sake for $5.99. Well worth it.
My son got the rainbow roll and the only reason there’s not a photo of it is he ate it too quick. My daughter got the tuna takaki and we all agree the sushi was very fresh but she Just didn’t care for it the way only an 8-year-old can change their mind. She had a second round of gyoza and said it was the best she’d have ever had. And she’s had a lot.
Husband and I split the spicy tuna roll from the happy hour menu and it was definitely worth the price. I got the lemon flash and it was super refreshing with the lemon sliced so thin. It was barely there. Just enough to leave a really refreshing taste on top of the salmon. Husband was craving something deep fried and I don’t remember what he got but he said it was great.
It was mildly loud and very busy. There were two TVs playing some kind of reality TV tuna catching show. There were two bathrooms and they were both clean with lots of supplies. There was one waitress taking care of the whole restaurant and she seemed very experienced. Even in the weeds she kept track of all the orders and was very friendly to my children. There were a lot of kids there and none of them seemed upset.
I would absolutely go again, especially during happy hour.

The chula and lemon flash rolls were delicious. We’ve been here around 5 times so far and it’s a great experience each time. The server is wonderful and we enjoy talking to her. Definitely our regular sushi spot now.

We have been used to the sushi shop across the street and were told this was the spot. The menu is tidy and well addressed with lots to offer. The prices are extremely fair for the great quality. Our server is knockout hot…and on point with her service and information. Their signature roll is the “Nordahl” ….which we are about to try. Highly recommend this spot. Fyi…even the ginger is insane fresh and delicious! Gotta go…baked lobster and Nordahl just landed…✌️
UPDATE – the last two are the Baked Lobster and Nordahl…the BL is …insane!!! The lobster itself is buttery, seasoned and perfect. The Nordahl is suuuuper clean and fresh! Try just the top piece also.

The food was good, but I have lived in Japan the food did not match the taste I was used to. In addition this place is busy, during the dinner hour staff was limited and multi tasking and some going on breaks. Hard to determine who was your waiter/waitress. Customers who were regulars or friends of the waiter/waitress, staff served/waited on them 1st.
