Good pizza if you’re in the area but underwhelming for true Neapolitan pizza if that’s what you’re looking for.
Unfortunately, we did not realize this was a chain, but walked for about half an hour to get here. The service was fine, one waiter was really nice and one waitress was less so. The space was clean and ultimately would say the pizza was just average.
The margarita was pretty good, the corn and prosciutto was disappointing, and the kids cheese was fine. The corn prosciutto was really wet and soggy, and I wouldn’t say any had great leopard or crisp bottoms.
The eggplant Arancini was not great, and unfortunately, they were out of the sausage Arancini. The mozzarella balls were fine, and the Brussel sprouts are actually pretty good.

Our DCANTER team hosted our holiday party at Pupatella on Capitol Hill, and we had the best time! First of, best pizza experience ever! So delicious! They also have gluten-free options for our team. Our server, Courtney, was lovely and very friendly, KP (the manager) was super professional and amazing! They made us feel welcome and were genuinely attentive. We will definitely be back!

Delightful local neighborhood restaurant. We enjoy the open air garden when weather is nice, and pleasant inside seats when outside is chillier.

Outstanding food!!! The handcrafted pizzas and sandwiches were amazing. The crust was perfectly baked; the selection of toppings was great. The advertised specials and end costs didn’t match, as the server didn’t explain the discrepancy. However, this was not enough to sway from patronizing the establishment again. Suggest blinds or tint in the street-side dining room, as the sun glare in the late afternoon/early evening was annoying.

They were the only restaurant opened in the neighborhood during labor day weekend! Even with limited staff and crowd pouring in, they consistently maintained the quality of food. I have been to Italy and the taste of food here reminded me about my trip! Amazing food

Amazing, honestly favorite spot I came to in DC so far traveling from Miami. Makes you feel like a local, just appreciating some good food and no high price tags. Had the mozzarella balls, Margherita pizza, and tiramisu. On par with the best tiramisu I’ve had so far at a local Italian spot back home. As well as some drinks. Everything was beyond great. Including the service from Justin and Courtney. Love it, I will definitely be back

Pupatella has officially become one of my favorite spots in DC. The food is consistently incredible—fresh ingredients, perfectly blistered Neapolitan crust, and flavors that feel both authentic and elevated. Every dish that comes out of that kitchen tastes like it was made with real care.
But what truly made my visit exceptional was the service. C was phenomenal from start to finish. Warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience, she struck that perfect balance of professionalism and personality. She anticipated what we needed before we even asked, checked in at the right moments, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table.
In a city full of restaurants, service like C’s is what sets a place apart. Pupatella is lucky to have her, and I’ll absolutely be back—both for the pizza and for the hospitality.

Loved the vibe of this hip brick oven spot, especially the graffiti art on the stairs up to the second floor. It was perfectly warm on a cold night; honestly, a DJ spinning old school hip hop or house would have made it perfect.
Service was excellent. The staff was attentive from start to finish and very helpful in guiding us on portion sizes. The pizza was fantastic—super thin crust with incredibly fresh ingredients that looked as good as it tasted. It is miles ahead of the reheated slices you find at other places nearby. My only regret is not snapping photos, but I’ll be back!
