I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Tempo Restaurant at The Barrington Hotel.
Due to a severe storm and flight cancellation at the end of February, 2026, I was unexpectedly stuck at the hotel for several days. During this time, I had breakfast and dinner at Tempo for three consecutive days, and every single visit was excellent.
A special thank you to Lisa Sampson, Tracy Stymest, and Laura for their outstanding service. They were incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They not only provided exceptional dining service, but also helped direct me to local attractions so I could make the most of my stay in Halifax.
The food and drinks were amazing, and I really enjoyed the cuisine with local blends and unique flavors—some dishes featured combinations I had never tried before. It was a pleasure dining at Tempo each time, and the welcoming atmosphere made a stressful situation much more pleasant.
Highly recommended. I truly appreciate the entire team at Tempo for turning an unexpected stay into a memorable one.

Good $20 meal offered Dine out Halifax. Kale salad was refreshing and beef curry rice noodle was good. Enough beef slices to last the whole dish.

I came here for breakfast when I was staying in Halifax and it was indeed the right choice! My cooked breakfast and fresh coffee were delicious. I would light to highlight that my scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, and more importantly, that the person who served me, Lisa, was a super-star, what a lovely, friendly, kind waitress. I would come back if I am back in Halifax one day.

Other than pad Thai, everything is good.
Regarding the pad thai, i srsly think they need to change the recipe because:
1/ this ain’t pad Thai: this is just a noodle dish that has curry sauce in it.
2/ The curry sauce is tasteless.

My first visit in a long time where I don’t work in downtown Halifax anymore. Had the Thai chicken wrap with the house salad on the side. Beautiful presentation and it was delicious! Our waitress was great – super helpful and friendly.

Went on a Tuesday because we were staying at the hotel. IMO best restaurant that I had the opportunity of trying (better than the other fancy shmancy places people recommended).

We ate here recently while staying at the Barrington. We each had the grab and go deal. It comes with a breakfast sandwich, hash browns and a drink. It was hot, fresh and tasted good. The service was terrific too. Very convenient and a great deal.
