Love the food at Briscola from the chef of LaRina. Chef Silvia is the pasta queen! Briscola offers Italian dishes that are more difficult to find stateside. Love the baccala cod, the wagyu carpaccio, the dessert card and literally all the pasta. Went for brunch this time but have been to dinner twice before. Excellent any meal.

This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites! The food is consistently amazing — the menu changes from time to time, but everything is always delicious. The service is excellent, and the whole experience feels authentically Italian.

I came here on a warm but dry Wednesday night in mid July with one other person for a 730pm dinner. I made the reservation a few days in advance but there seemed to be available spaces where a reservation might not have been needed. When I went there was seating inside the restaurant as well as outside on the sidewalk immediately in front of the door which seemed to be covered by an awning.
The restaurant is cute and it definitely gives an Italian vibe. We had the mozzarella appetizer that was very flavorful. I had the pasta with crab and bread crumbs that was delicious. Between the two, I couldn’t finish my entree. The menu changes frequently. The service was fine but not great. The staff didn’t really have a friendly or warm attitude.
I would come back and I would recommend.

One of my favorite spots in Brooklyn! The staff is always welcoming and friendly, the food is always amazing. When I’m here, I feel like their neon sign…. diving headfirst into delicious pasta. If you’ve not tried their dessert cart, do it!

I am so happy this restaurant opened a couple of blocks from my house. Has become my go to spot with my friends. Felt like I had to always go far from my neighbourhood to find genuine Italian food and now there’s finally a good, solid Italian spot near me. The food is great and the 25 taglioni is one of best pastas I’ve ever tried. Staff is so warm and helpful. The owner Federico will remember you and always greet you with a great smile and make you feel welcome. Casual, fun and reliable!

As Italian I can just say that the food is really authentic and well done.
As gluten free consumer I discovered that they do they own hand made gluten free pasta and is very good.
We had the “puntarelle salad” A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
Then “tagliatelle gluten free with ragù”
Just great experience
We’ll be back!

The last time we went there, they wouldn’t let me in right away! They stopped me and asked where I was going, and I had to give my friend’s name before they would let me in, even though I responded pleasantly that I was meeting friends. As in, they specifically asked who I was meeting, and would not take my word for it. I know that this is not that uncommon, but I could just feel the attitude coming off the person at the door. I was thinking to myself—this is just another Italian spot on Franklin, not some five-star hot spot that needs to guard the door! I have received a more welcoming entrance from actual fine dining restaurants. I usually enjoy the food and drinks here, but I could feel the tension coming off of the staff, which made for a kind of edgy experience. Coming into the restaurant with a very cold and suspicious check at the door combined with this tension took the fun out of the meal. I felt on edge the whole time I was there, but tried to have fun for the sake of my friends. Another friend had another encounter there with the staff being very rude to her tonight, so I thought that I would add my negative experience with the staff as well. It is hard to enjoy dining out if the staff makes you feel unwelcome, which happened to her as well. She said the owner told her that her business was unwelcome over some ridiculous reasons. There are too many Italian restaurants in Brooklyn to subject yourself to this.

I came here two sundays ago with my roommate and our parents. We’re new to the neighborhood and were looking for a nice place nearby that would be a fun restbit from moving. Briscola did not disappoint. The staff was incredibly friendly, warm, and knowledgable about the food and wine menu. They treated us like regulars immediately and the food was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to come back here again and so lucky it’s in the neighborhood!

Great food great service, I came in by myself on a Friday night sat at the bar. Paul was the greatest bartender, so sweet. Everyone that sat at the bar became friends by the end of the night thanks to him. The entire staff, so friendly. I will now be a local regular.
