Aama Lama is inspired by the person who fed our family best—our mom. Her cooking was the heart of our home: comforting, soulful, and made with love.
Our kitchen celebrates authentic Nepali and Indian flavors with recipes passed down through generations. From aromatic curries and hand-rolled momos to freshly baked naan and fragrant basmati rice, every dish honors the rich culinary traditions of the Himalayas and Indian subcontinent. Whether you crave chicken tikka masala, goat curry, jhol momo, or choila, our menu brings bold, warming flavors meant to be shared.
We also serve specialty coffee and comfort foods from cultures we love, like Vietnamese egg rolls and coffee.
Aama Lama is a place to slow down, eat well, and feel at home!

Came with a party of 4 and got a table right away. The service was quick and staff was super helpful. This was the first Nepalese restaurant I’ve tried and it’s very good. We ordered the steam pork momo (8 pieces), chili chicken, goat thali, the buffalo dish, chicken chowmein, and 4 Vietnamese ice coffee. If you want to try pure Nepalese cuisine, the Thali’s recommended. Chili Chicken was my favorite. Everything was delicious! Would highly recommend and will definitely drop by again.

This might be the best Nepali food in the Boston area! We had the jhol momo, buff sukuti, and samosa, all of which were amazing. The place is small but has a lot of charm and a nice ambiance.

This restaurant exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely delicious—well seasoned, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Portions were generous and prices felt very fair for the quality. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending this place to others!

Aama Lama in Malden is a great new spot for Nepali food. I dined in and had the Wai Wai Sadeko, which was packed with flavor, I recommend eating this dish at the restaurant for the most crunch! I also ordered the steamed pork momos, chili chicken, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan to go. The momos were juicy, the chili chicken had a great balance of spice, and the chicken tikka masala was rich and well-seasoned. The garlic naan was soft, warm, and perfect for soaking up the sauce.
Overall the restaurant has a nice, warm, cozy ambiance, and you can really tell the food is cooked with care. It has that authentic, home-style “mom cooking” taste that makes it extra special. The staffs were friendly and attentive. Definitely worth checking out.

About $57 pre tip for samosas, Fried momo, pork noodle soup, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan.
The flavor and quality was very good. The prices are affordable. Our highlights were the samosas and momo, I could eat a hundred of each and not get tired of them.
For my tastes, I wish there was more broth in the soup and more liquid in the tikka masala. Towards the end of the meal there was still rice and naan left without anything to mix it with. Both dishes had plenty of protein for the price though.
Absolutely will be coming back and I hope they are here to stay.

10/10! Highly, highly recommend! Best momos I’ve had in America and the service was exceptional! Went for Valentine’s Day and they even gave me a rose and free dessert. Will be back as soon as we can!

First time having Nepali food at Aama Lama and loved every dish! We got the steamed chicken momos, chicken lollipops, fried rice, goat curry, thukpa and mango lassi! My picky toddler loved the momos, chicken lollipops and fried rice. Every dish was seasoned really well and everything had such amazing flavor! The thukpa is soooo comforting and flavorful. Highly recommend trying!

I was walking by on a bitter cold night, and on a whim I decided to stop and dine in. I had chicken curry and samosas, and took home kheer for dessert. Everything was good! The samosa dipping sauce and the curry were both slighly spicy, not too intense. The dining area is very small, only about 10 seats, plus a few more at a high-top counter on the side. The warm-colored decor and soft lighting gave a cozy ambience. I’m looking forward to visiting again and trying their momo!

Stumbled upon this place on a whim and decided to try some Nepalese cuisine. It blew our expectations away and the appetizers were very filling. They recently had their soft opening earlier this week and were kind enough to gift us some egg rolls to try. The employees and servers were all kind and attentive checking in on us. All the food, drinks, and desserts we ordered were delicious and flavorful. We will definitely be planning to go again!
