If you’re in the mood for breakfast any time of day, you can’t go wrong with Peak City Diner!
Very Clean establishment!!
A young girl took our drink order and they were brought to us fast. Our waitress was friendly and very nice to my son, which always makes the experience better as well.
The food was the problem…the real reason we’re here, right?!
My husband ordered eggs over easy, bacon and hash browns. The eggs were good, the bacon was terribly over cooked and the hash browns felt like they sat there a while. My son had the child’s French toast sticks, bacon and eggs. His bacon was also over cooked and for him was very difficult to chew. I ordered eggs benedict with home fries. The eggs Benedict had so much hollandaise sauce you couldn’t even see what was underneath it. It was thick and not what hollandaise even looks like. I had to scrape it all off to get to the ham, egg and muffin. The “home fries” were frozen store bought little potato cubes with no seasoning, onions or peppers. A diner without good home fries?
We ate the food as to not waste, but were not satisfied. We found this place on a whim after a quick google search for a diner and were starving, so it worked, but Unfortunately, we won’t be back.
Well today my wife, four year old daughter and I came in. We were greeted by an elderly woman maybe in her 60’s. She sat us down and asked what we wanted to drink. Now my wife and I aren’t the type of people to usually say something like this, but my four year old said to the older waitress, hello nice to meet you I’m excited for pancakes!! The waitress looked at her then back to us and just asked what we wanted to drink. Again, not everyone is good with kids we understand that, but my daughter just said hi and we are currently teaching her to make sure she says thank you, hello etc. It should be basic customer service skills to at least throw a fake smile out and say hiii! Or something I don’t know?
After she left my daughter asked why she was ignored and we just said she didn’t hear you – she totally did but just decided not to answer or smile. Ok so whatever right we just gave each other a quick uhh ok lol look and moved on didn’t want daughter knowing, but she did.
Anyways ..We ordered drinks and there was a younger super nice girl working there. Well the older staff treated her very poorly, enough where the old waitress walked by the younger one and said “bring them drinks”. The younger girl asked what did they order, and she was ignored. I had to yell over pepsi and a water please , she smiled and thanked me. Drinks were brought over promptly by the younger girl, again very nice.
Here is where it went down weird, we literally sat at the table for 18 minutes. During that time the older staff member was at the cash register area, we were near the window. She didn’t come to ask us what to order even one time. The younger staff saw that I flagged her over, and even went over to the older woman and said ” those three over there” even pointing at us. The older woman was apparently very busy. Guess what she was doing the entire time? Flirting with some guy half her age at the register. He was so visibly uncomfortable after 10 minutes after he heard the younger girl say the three over there he made eye contact with me and gave me a JEEEESH kinda look to let me know he was uncomfortable, and I don’t even know the guy! We just happen to lock eyes for sec.
By the way they were NOT busy. There was only two other tables with their food already there when we got our drinks. I told my wife it’s going on about 23 minutes and the old woman staff had already been told we needed assistance but she continued to chat at the register. We waited 3-5 minutes before my wife started to think maybe because she was Asian or something the lady hated her…. Yeah.. we aren’t even like that but it was so freaking bizarre that it led my wife to think that way. Super super unprofessional and strange enough to prompt the most craziest thought to pop into her head. Been married for almost 15 years and she has never said that to me I thought she was joking at first to make me laugh but she was slightly serious. I decided ok time to leave.
I went up to pay for my one pepsi we drank which was the only time someone came to the table. She didn’t even apologize she just said don’t worry about it then went back to talking to that guy!! Wow!!!
I’m really hoping the owner sometimes reads reviews and can pull video footage from inside. My review is spot on match it with your security camera. We unfortunately won’t be coming back it’s such a shame.
Terrible and left my wife feeling down as well. Will never recommend again.
The three of us ordered typical breakfast fare including eggs over easy, pancakes, french toast, an omelet, and chicken and waffles. The sides were hash browns, toast and homefries. The food arrived warm and we dug in. The homefries were just diced potatoes, no onions, and very little seasoning. We ended up adding a lot of salt and pepper to everything. The hasbrowns were also a bit bland. The chicken seemed to be frozen, and the waitress had explained that they were out of regular waffles and only had Belgian waffles – not sure how that works. The side of french toast was $7 and was one slice of bread. Overall, the meal came to $53 for the three of us.
