I was just passing through town with a baby who needed nursing. Ended up stopping for a spot of tea. I am delighted by this gem. Our server Olivia was very kind and helpful. Will be returning.

What a cute spot. Drove through Tecumseh, MI and stopped in. Nice “olden days” atmosphere. The wait staff was super friendly and service was great. Apple Cole slaw was delicious. The green pepper soup was surprisingly good. Tea and scones hit the spot too.

My partner and I visited The British Pantry Tea Garden Cafe due to recommendation. How come you find the most interesting places in small towns.
I ordered The Cottage Pie. Sort of a Shepard pie. It was out of this world . He ordered The Lava Cake & The Apple Slaw. Due to the fact of practicing Gluten-free. The menu also offered other alternatives for Gluten-free options.
It was so nice to see him actually eatinga dessert.
The service was very friendly accommodating.
Atmosphere was very unique. Warm and inviting.
Highly recommend.
I live in The Metro Detroit area & I would come down to Tecumseh just to attend this restaurant/Gift Store.

This place is AMAZING! We loved the British atmosphere. They have a great variety of teas,
I got the Jasmine with orange peel and it was excellent, food is absolutely delicious too, I tried the turkey sandwich in a croissant. They also have a mini store to buy everything for your at home tea, like mini tea spoons, tea cups and pots, ball tea strainers, etc. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was super cozy. I hope I can get back to this place soon.

Excellent little place. The sisters that run it are actually from England so they know the real deal. They have a tremendous selection of loose tea. They have some pretty good sandwiches and desserts too. This is an excellent place to sit and have some tea.

While driving through Tecumseh on our way to Hidden Lakes Garden, we decided we were hungry so stopped in downtown and were delighted to spot the British Tea Garden (aka British Pantry Tea Garden Cafe). What a gem! It’s a lovely British-themed gift shop combined with a cafe for tea and lunch. The decor with pictures of Queen Elizabeth and the royal family made me feel I’d been transported to London. The shop had many lovely gifts to choose from. There was an extensive tea menu and we chose Tea On The Beach, served in beautiful tea cups with a china pot. The service was wonderful and so was the food. My husband enjoyed the Shepherd’s Pie and I had the cold luncheon plate (pictured), which was a fresh and savory light lunch. For dessert he had the carrot cake (excellent) and I had the lemon parfait (pictured) which was tart, creamy and delicious a serving large enough to share. I’ve been craving that parfait ever since! There are gluten-free choices on the menu, which I loved. We highly recommend and will definitely be dining there again.

This is a charming tea shop with excellent food and terrific service. We are never disappointed when we make the drive into quaint Tecumseh, Michigan for a visit to The British Tea Pantry. I can highly recommend the scones (particularly cream scones and cinnamon scones), the shepherd’s pie, the tuna salad on a croissant, and my very favorite item on the menu, the apple slaw. The slaw alone is worth the 45 minute drive! The service is always friendly and attentive. Just prepare to wait a while because it’s a popular place and not the type of place you want to rush through your meal and be on your way. Lunch and tea is an experience to savor and feel that you’re pampering yourself, so expect others will be feeling the same way and enjoying their time and not rushing through their visit either. I can assure you, it’s worth the wait.
