2 stars for breakfast 4 for dinner.
The hash browns were barely cooked and the whole plate was kind of cold. I upped it a star since they took some off the tab to make up for it.
As for dinner. When I was here before it was great. Hot food. The frog legs were awesome. Not sure if it’s a different oil on Sunday morning, but breakfast doesn’t match the dinner.

They call this a shrimp taco? Had to look for the shrimp and there were 4 small shrimp per taco mostly lettuce and tomato with no taco sauce, no sour cream, no cheese, just plain lettuce and tomato with a few small shrimp lost on a burrito size tortilla. The service was subpar never once asked how the food was and my glass stayed empty for a while before I was offered a refill. To be fair my wife said that her catfish sandwich was good, but in my opinion if you don’t know how to make something then you probably shouldn’t have it on the menu. Sorry I love to support small business as I know it is hard nowadays. I’ll give them another chance that’s only fair but honesty they are off to a bad start.

Ordered and it came out all over the place, ordered two coffees. We were never checked on after ordering and never were given refills. When we asked if we could have a coffee to go we were told we would have to be charged again. When we protested the server made up excuses. I have been eating at beaver dam cafe for years and years, this was by far my worst experiences here and one of my worst dining experiences in the county. You lost a long time paying customer because you wouldn’t give me the coffee we already paid for. I shouldn’t have to argue with you to get a product I have already given you money for. We spent 30$ on French toast and steak and eggs and you can’t afford a 25 cent coffee? The entrance next to the grease trap is unappetizing and there was water all over the floors leaking from everywhere. Should have probably just been closed all together.

Frankly, I was disappointed. We’ve been seeing their advertisements on Facebook and decided to come today. The chicken strips were very good. The white beans were ice cold but tasted good except for too much salt. NO diet drinks at all. After my husband had his meal 10 minutes I went to the counter to check on mine. They had lost my ticket. The lasagna was lukewarm and dried out like it had been sitting a long time. The salad lettuce was limp and not crispy. The people in back of us had ordered the hamburger steak with brown mushroom gravy and they actually served it without the brown gravy with dry mushrooms sprinkled on top. It wasn’t worth the 2 hour round trip. Beef O’Brady’s will have to be the go to place for Beaver Dam. I was so hoping it was going to be good.

Great diner downtown. Old school scratch comfort food. Came for dinner, came back for breakfast. Huge portions. Staff extremely friendly. Not a fancy place, but you will get quality selections and won’t go away hungry.

We’ve been eating here twice a year for many years (motorcycle trips to Smokey’s takes us through this town). Last year the place seemed a little off (was riddled with flies). This year, the place seemed worse – complete with a bug (you know what kind) joining us on the breakfast table. They were also out of multiple menu items. Think they need clean-up/overhaul and scheduled periodic professional pest control services. Please clean it up guys – we want you to succeed and regain your glory!

Dinner is ok, but breakfast was horrible. Being a manager of a successful kitchen in Owensboro I know good doors and reheated foods. The eggs were clearly cooked another day or earlier in the morning and then heated up very dry, gravy had chunks of flour, bacon was ordered crispy it was dark like it should have been crispy but was somehow still soggy. Asked the lady at the counter about charging me for gravy biscuit only because the rest was reheated foods. She said yeah the eggs a cooked precooked. Eggs are the quickest and easiest things to cook.

Food was not good or received as ordered. My “cheese eggs” came with cold, unmelted cheese thrown across the top of scrambled eggs. My husband ordered 3 eggs and barely/maybe received 2 eggs on his plate. The French toast he also ordered was not prepared evenly, as some parts were raw and other parts just tasted like regular toast. Nice waitress today, believe she is newer which may also be why she didn’t come by to refill the coffee cup. Only complaint with her. Usual waitresses are typically not very friendly. Really miss the OC cafe…
