A nice quiet place with a killer menu. My fav version of Chicken & Cashews in Frederick. The Peking gourmet chicken and chicken and broccoli are top notch, as well. The soups get high marks. I love the egg drop soup, my girlfriend loves her wonton soup. We’ve had bao buns as an appetizer and enjoyed them. Fresh, bright veggies. Food as healthy as you want to be, with some true “health food” options labeled for the crowd leaving the gym in the same shopping center.
Friendly staff. Quiet atmosphere. I absolutely adore this place and hope other people support this restaurant for years to come.

This is the first time I’ve been here since the new owners took over. It’s difficult not to compare it to the previous owners. I was not impressed at all. Chicken with cashews was always my favorite here and it definitely is not the same. The cashews were always mixed into the dish and today they were just sprinkled on top. I also asked if they could make it spicy, but it didn’t come out that way. They don’t have a lunch menu on Saturdays. So we basically had to order an entire entrée, which didn’t come with anything but rice so we had to order extra things like soup and egg rolls separately and ended up taking a lot of food home. Not usually what you wanna spend for lunch. My aunt ordered some sort of beef with vegetables and she liked it a lot. I just wasn’t prepared to spend almost $30 for a Chinese lunch for one person. Make sure you ask for ice if you order water to drink because it clearly comes right out of the tap. Also make sure you ask for ice in your water if you ask for a refill because the water was warm. There were no other people in the restaurant at all while we were there from 11:30 to 12:30 and only one person came in to pick up an order the entire time that we were there. The old Peking Gourmet would have been swamped with business. I honestly don’t know that I would return to this place because it just wasn’t that great, especially for the money we paid. I will say at the end when he brought our check along with the fortune cookie they give you a strawberry mousse which was delicious. Unfortunately, I don’t believe this will be my favorite place anymore.

Been to many Chinese Restaurants.
The food was excellent. Hunan chicken all white meat fresh green broccoli carrot slices and I could tell fresh mushrooms sauce was spicy and full of flavor. Served piping hot with nice firm white rice enough for 2 meals price very reasonable. Service was attentive and friendly.

Peking has become my #1. The beef steamed dumplings are a must. The sweet and sour chicken is the best I’ve had.
I’ve called in orders when I was sick and the woman on the phone has given me recommendations on soups and such that’ll be comforting. Great spot! Give it a try, you won’t be sorry.
EDIT! They now have their lunch menu on doordash! I cant tell you happy this makes me!!! ❤️

So ordered our standard Monday night carry out tonight . Surprised to see new owners behind the counter. The place is coming back to life! Looks like they will be opening up dine – in soon . Now…a light suggestion on the menu. Please keep the original recipes . We git the cashew chicken and it was REALLY over sauced and the chicken rice noodles had random vegetables in it. So..just know going forward, your favorites might taste a bit different . Overall will be back next week to see how they are coming along

This restaurant was impeccably clean…both dining area and restrooms. Just ordered basic chicken fried rice and vegetable fried rice, and both were likely the best fried rice we’ve ever had…it was fresh, tasty and well prepared. It was so good that we wish we would have also tried other main dishes. We will stop again the next time we ride by there on our way to DC.

Okay, everyone, I know the changing of owners is the big controversy here, but as a customer of Peking Gourmet for many, many years, I have to say it……..the Kung pao chicken and general tsaos shrimp were phenomenal!!! They were just better, there I said it. The crisp on the proteins is to die for and the sauces are rich and delicious!! I will say the dumplings were not my favorite, a bit heavy on the ginger, so a bit perfumey, but husband said they were luscious. I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp spring rolls, they were a nice size with a lovely crisp wrap and inside was yummy. The original owners were so kind and welcoming, and I do miss them, but we had a very sweet, attentive waitress, and quite honestly, I am there for the food, not the company. Nice atmosphere, and the prices are still affordable. So, two very big thumbs up I highly recommend for a lovely date night or a fun family celebration!!
