First seated for lunch and then three other tables. Waited one full hour for food to arrive. We saw plates being brought out for the office staff to eat ahead of the guests and saw them take it to the office. Server was friendly and knowledgeable and acknowledged our concerns, but service was very slow. Food was average. Ketchup packets for a beautiful atmosphere was off putting. Expected more.

Ever since my wife was a kid, she always loved Dirty Dancing. When she found out that a portion was filmed at the restaurant and lodge, she always wanted to go. The nice thing is that we didn’t have to be guests of the to eat there. Which made it easy as we were passing through.
First, on a high note, our waitress was absolutely the best. She was friendly and was on top of everything.
As far as the food, this place was a mixed bag for us. My corned beef sandwich was really good with nice cuts of meat. The bread was also nice and buttery. The fries were undercooked where they were nearly raw potatoes and were overly greasy. I tried eating them so as not to take away from my wife’s experience or disappoint our stellar waitress. However, my wife, who never complains, was not a fan of the salad and barely touched it. It may have been that it was not her preference of taste, not that there was anything erong in preparation. The fried green tomatoes were interesting. They looked like an art piece. We thought they were mini loaded potato skins, They’re not your grandma’s fried green tomatoes by any means. These were different, but it wasn’t bad. You won’t get that crispy breading. If anything, it was very soggy. The sauce was more of a tomato paste taste that was overly dominant. I would use less as it voided out anything else. They also had bacon on it, which was really good, savory, and perfectly cooked. It almost worked, but the sauce was too potent.
The atmosphere feels historic and has a nice charm with it. The guests are spaced out that it feels more spacious. The prices were comparable to most standard restaurants, especially for the service and the atmosphere.
Overall, I’m going to say it was a decent experience with a few quirks. If someone you know loves Dirty Dancing, it’s worth a visit. We sat at the same location of the filming.

*I will edit my review. After being brought to others’ attention, the staff really wanted to make it right. At this point we want to come back and try again… It’s refreshing to see a company actively try to keep your business once they are aware of a situation that made us unhappy.
Let’s see, only buffet offering, just happens to be Chinese. I admit I have simpler tastes, but almost nothing was what I expect from chinese, and the seasoning were just off… There were two things that were just gone, the spring rolls and the meatballs. Went at 7 pm, after having 1 spring roll and 1 meatball that I actually liked and some other offerings that just weren’t good I went back to get more of those two things. Not only are they empty, but they are out of those options for the night…. When you have 2 plus hours left to serve??? I don’t eat seafood, but the replacement was mussels. So $50 each later, I ate 2 things and had to go to the room and eat chips. Frustrating and definitely don’t recommend. Yes I asked the server, and when I said something about not eating seafood if was shrugged off and no offer of anything else. Too expensive to walk out hungry!

This place has lots of atmosphere as it is located in the old 1930s Stone Hotel building that replaced an even older wooden building from a century before. These days the resort is pretty quiet, but is known as the film location of the movie Dirty Dancing. Some tables also have a nice view of the surrounding resort in mountainside and what’s left of mountain lake. I say, what remains of the lake because the lake disappeared about a decade ago and now there’s only a large puddle at the far end of the valley. I can’t blame the restaurant of the resort for that since it was a natural event that drain the lake. We’ve been coming here for decades and the place has changed management several times. I’d say the both the quality and quantity of food has gone down in the past couple of years. The menu is pretty static with only a few choices. I found the portions to be very small and the cooking to be less than gourmet. That said, the crab dip was quite delicious. The service was slow and not very experienced. For example I ordered a seafood soup dish that came without a soup spoon. I made do with a teaspoon. Several years ago they did away with a fabulous weekend buffet that was really delicious and worth making a long trip for. I’m helping they bring that back as well as larger portions, maybe find a better chef, and expand the menu. I understand that the higher prices are probably a necessity, if they should strive to give the public their money’s worth.

Horrible dining experience!!!!!! I don’t even know where to begin. We had only been on property an hour and then came to eat. We were the first and only customers at 11:30 am. We were greeted and the waitress brought us back our drinks. Hubby ordered the bison burger I ordered an angus burger daughter chicken strips. I ordered mine with a gluten free bun. The food comes out within 15 mins and fries are pretty brown over cooked, daughters chicken strips were massive and over cooked, his burger looks great but mine is about 2.5 inches across and 1/4 of an inch thick. I’m estimating it was a 3 oz burger if that, for $16!!!!!!!! See picture use lines on my hand for reference it was small!!! It did not have a gluten free bun so she said she would get in the back and toast it up. I sat for over 10 mins waiting for that bun. We were her only table!!!!! My husband was done with his meal by the time “the Manager” brought it to me. We were done eating but our waitress was then chatting it up with 3 ladies who just came in. Meanwhile we sat for 10 minutes waiting for our ticket so we could leave! There was only two other tables there after us. I had to ask the other waitress if she could please get us our ticket. I honestly think they gave me the child sized burger and if they didn’t this place should be shut down charging that sort of money for a 3 oz or less burger. Ridiculous. Hire better employees too. No one should have to wait that long when there’s no one there. It’s just unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to eat at. The views are amazing and the glassware is nice. That’s the extent of the greatness of this place.

Amazing experience to sit at the table that Frances “Baby” Houseman and her family sat at in the classic film Dirty Dancing. The restaurant atmosphere was beautiful, the decor almost untouched from the movie back in the 80s. The staff were lovely, quick and friendly and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend for anyone who likes somewhere nice to dine or of course any fans of Dirty Dancing.

This is a very cool location atop a mountain with a lake! (once upon a time). The drive to this destination is rewarding as it provides nice views and winding roads. Once up in this area, there are plenty of outdoor activities.
The restaurant is located within the lodge and has a pretty good, “lodgy” feel with stone clad walls, fire places, low ambient lighting and views looking out onto the mountain.
The service is of course dependent on who is working, but in my case, was above and beyond average.
The food is tastily crafted and matches the atmosphere of the lodge.

Amazing dinner! Matt our server was great! Loved everything! Recommend the Grilled oysters and fried green tomato small plates. Shrimp and grits, trout, Rosemary Chicken and venison tenderloin were delicious. Our table overlooked the cabin and filming locations from Dirty Dancing. Loved the historic and charming feel of the buildings. Must try the Chocolate brownie and crème brûlée to finish out the night!

While the inside and atmosphere at the Harvest was very nice, something in the kitchen must have been occurring while we were there this past Saturday night. From placing our order until the food arrived, it took an hour and 15 minutes. Maybe that could be understood if it had been super crowded, but 90% of the tables were empty. Between the 6 of us at the table, we had 4 different meals, and none of us were impressed with the food. There was simply no flavor making me wonder if something did go wrong in the kitchen and someone with no experience had to step in and take over that evening.
The beers and atmosphere below the Harvest at the Salt Pond Pub might be a wiser choice for food if going to the Mountain Lake Lodge, which I would recommend since it is a beautiful area, but just avoid the Harvest unless you want to be disappointed.
