The Fish Net has been an institution on the Blue Hill Peninsula for decades and there’s a reason why. If you are looking for an authentic Maine experience you’ve come to the right place. The haddock is fresh, flaky and lightly battered. They let the fish shine which is what you want when you’re having fresh haddock. The coleslaw is also great, it’s dressed just right. I highly recommend getting a side of their coleslaw and topping your haddock burger with it for the ultimate experience! There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors as well as a small full service dine-in area. Make sure to save room for the Gifford’s ice cream or soft serve! I always look forward to when The Fish Net opens for the season! Going to be dreaming of that fried haddock burger until we meet again.

Stopped in had some onion rings very greasy, not really that good. French Fries were ok pricey 6.00 for a tiny portion of French Fries. Like I said many times, I was in the restaurant business.
30lbs of fries cost about 29.00 now, so their making a killing.
I will say that I had the best milkshake I ever had. They get a 7.5 rating

SNAPSHOT = time stands still here. Same great spot and the food is always good – details below.
Twice a summer we stop here on the way from and to Bangor Airport. Nice to sit outside at any one of several picnic tables.
One of the top lobster rolls in the Penobscot Bay area. Steamers and fried clams are always great.
Burgers, hot dogs and salads gives almost everybody a non-seafood option for those who might want one.
Save room for ice cream, frozen yogurt or a milk shake.
Love this place.

Very disappointing. Picked up a lunch shrimp dinner and couldn’t eat it. The shrimp was not very fresh, rubbery, and had shells still on it. The burger my Husband ordered literally made him sick and tasted worse than rubber and cardboard put together. I ordered my granddaughter a lobster only to be told it cost 12.00 more for half an ear of corn and cole slaw. The fries, onion rings, and shrimp tasted like old rancid oil and were burnt. Apparently, they don’t change the oil they fry in as it imparts the worst flavor to everything. The shrimp and onion rings were cold, no not warm, cold. The prices are ridiculous, like 10.00 for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you can buy a whole loaf of bread, peanut butter, and jelly for about that and make many sandwiches. I’m so very disappointed. The girl at the window was very rude and lacked knowledge. I asked her for a detailed receipt and she had no idea what I was talking about. I had to explain detail for detail only to be told I don’t know if I can do that right now. We got no silverware, ketchup that was asked for, napkins, and they refused to let us use a cracker for the lobster only provided a plastic picker. They told me it was cut but if we couldn’t get it to bring it back and they would try to figure it out. They also provided no butter for the dinner rolls. I had to go back to the window 4 times to get everything I should’ve gotten with our food. Prices, food, service, and the restroom was beyond awful!

We stopped to have lunch here in Blue Hill because the Bagaduce Lunch was closed. They have delicious fried clams and my friends enjoyed their haddock sandwiches. The service was a little slow because like everyone else they are having trouble finding employees. But all in all, we were very happy with The Fish Net.
