Liz was really cool and my husband and I were so hungry!! We have a restaurant in Florida so I know what we wanted. We were looking for fresh and quick and they delivered we came in and sat down and I’m telling you it was amazing. Go out and get the three burritos on the appetizer and you.!! The pinto beans for a side or fabulous. Everything seems fresh so enjoy the rate of salsa.

Surprisingly, good Mexican food. We walked in and were not sure what to expect. The restaurant is very basic. I ordered 2 fried tacos with ground beef, which were excellent and freshly made. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, which was huge. I ended up taking most of the rice and beans home. My hubby ordered beef enchilada dinner, which was not on the menu, but they made the enchilada with beef for him. The food is truly authentic! The service was adequate. We highly recommend Carmelita’s. They seem to do a large take out business.

I’ve been eating here since they first started as a small street taco stand inside of ranch market and I am so proud with how well business has become. I’ve had good memory’s here including it being the place where I had my very first date, another incident I had was when I made a to go order online for ceviche and put a “thank you ❤️” in add special instructions. to be completely surprised with a special made hand cut cucumber as a act of gratitude, it was so cute! I’d definitely recommend here and trying out their food and overall just to experience what they have to offer ❤️

The best Mexican food I’ve ever had! Try the tacos with home made tortillas . Chilaquiles are bomb as well. Tone honest I’ve yet to have a bad meal or experience.

Arrived at 9am when they opened (hours are posted on google maps). On their door it says they don’t open until 10:30am. Would have been nice to save myself a 30 minute drive out here to know that they were closed.

Food was okay but ended up finding a metal wire of some kind in my burrito. Not sure what it’s from but I didn’t feel comfortable finishing the rest of the food.

Looks a lot nicer without the salsa bar. Food is great, there are only two Mexican style restaurants in oak view and this one is superior food-wise.
I’m a little disappointed there is not a specific “burrito bowl” or similar on the menu. Portion sizes are large and quality of the food is high. I work nearby so it’s nice to have a good eatery in my satellite.
Bathroom is always clean when I’ve used it.

Hi All,
Just want to comment on this gem in the Ojai Valley. All of the menu items that I’ve tried have been delicious. Hard to go wrong. Under new ownership as of this week. Had the fish taco special as well as a carnitas taco a la carte with a side of rice and horchata to drink today. All continue to be delicious. They’ve added some new booths which gives the establishment a warmer more comfortable feel. A great addition. All of the staff do a great job but Karla has Always been the stand out. She is an asset to this business for sure. So, do yourself a favor when you’re in the area and stop by Carmelita’s. Tell em’ Brian and Cindy sent ya!

I have been visiting this restaurant for quite some time now. The quality of their food, service and atmosphere is not the same as before. I decided to go for dinner with my friends, the music way too loud. I asked them to turn it down a bit so I could talk to my friends and Alfredo said, “Get the hell out of here then.” They shouldn’t treat their customers like that.
