All of the meals you will find are prepared and served to meet the standards of Selymon’s mother and grandmother. After all, it is they who have graciously shared the recipes that you will soon come to know and love. We have something for everyone! Kabobs, Rice plates, Vegetarian and Vegan options and don’t forget our amazing burgers and wraps! Come enjoy the traditions and warmth brought to you from their kitchen to Woodland’s own Downtown on Main Street.

A fast-casual menu featuring Afghani kabobs, rice plates, & burgers in a minimalist dining room.

Beautiful fresh food. Quite a few vegetarian options, though not much in the way of protein. We enjoyed the eggplant dip snd mixed green salad.

Great food and service! I have celiac and they had great gluten free options. I got the chicken kabuli and it was soo good! The rice and chicken thigh was super flavorful and the sauces were a great addition. Will definitely be coming back!

We had a wonderful experience at Shah Restaurant in Woodland. We tried the mantu, samosas, and bolani, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The mantu was perfectly prepared and full of flavor, the samosas were crispy and well-seasoned, and the bolani was fresh, savory, and comforting. You can really taste the care and authenticity in the food.

In addition, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for flavorful, homemade-style Afghan cuisine with great customer service. We will definitely be back!

I had the chapli kabob and it was absolutely delicious. Large portions, house made yoghurt, incredible mint sauce. Fantastic experience overall

Great food! We asked for some authentic and popular dishes. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We got three shared plates and one chicken dish. The eggplant was amazing. The dumplings were fantastic. Everything was delicious. $34 total. We ate outside to enjoy the good weather.

My only complaint was the chicken was a little dry. Otherwise no complaints at all!

Supposedly the wait for food can be a bit long but we didn’t have any troubles, maybe because we weren’t in a hurry.

I can’t say enough good things about the quality of food at “House of Shaw.” My favorite is the chapli kabob and shaw fries which I’ve included a picture. The restaurant is always clean and located in the quaint downtown woodland area with adequate parking and a bunch of boutiques close by if you wanted to shop afterwards.

Wow!! What mouthful of flavor in the middle of downtown Woodland. We got the dumplings…super yummy and could be a meal , but advertised as a shareable; a ground beef patty kabob with cumin seasoned rice which we shared; and the ice cream dessert. The vanilla ice cream was sprinkled with cardamom and pistachio. I could/would eat that all day long. It was large enough to share with 3 other adults and a two year old. My eating comrades really enjoyed their meals, too. We drove from Sacramento and Davis and would do it again. This is a causal dining experience and has seating for about 25 to 30 people. Super nice cashier. We will be back. Good vegetarian options.

Quiet atmosphere, delicious food made fresh to order. The samosas are delicious as is the salad. We also tried the chapli kabob plate. The Jala ice cream treat was interesting and tasty. The macaroni dish could have used more sauce, but overall still 10/10. Excited to try more of their menu.

Our first time there. Our son who’s a woodland resident has been going there since they opened. He had been telling us about them and it did not disappoint. We really enjoyed every level of it. His good folks with good clean food and a clean environment. Hope they flourish in Woodland.
We sit outside in the curbside seating. And yes there was a little bit of vehicle noise but it was well worth it. It was just a great place to sit and talk and enjoy our meal.
