Old-fashioned meat counter & Cuban deli with a simple cafe serving casual bites like pan con lechon.

I will give this place a 5 star overall and a ONE STAR for equipment. I been coming here for few years and I truly enjoy their food. I stop here every day on my way to work, for my cafe, cafe con leche and may cuban toast. for the last 30 days when i ask for toast well done the girls tell me that the toaster is not working properly and that it will not be well done or crispy, I think is time for the owners to invest bin new toaster!!! My breakfast is $7.40 plus tip every morning for 4 days per week $29.60 weekly, monthly my tab adds on to 651.20. I will stop coming here until the toaster is replaced. the purpose of this review is for all who stop here and want their sandwiches or bread well toasted don’t waste your time you not going to get it!!! hope management reads this review and takes responsibility for the faulty equipment. I want to take a moment and add to my previous review. I went back today and order a pan con lechon, and it was amazing as always and WELL TOASTED!!!! I’m sorry that it took a review to get the owners to fixed. I understand the owner is mad at me for the review. Please accept my apologies, but those machines needed to get fixed.

It was totally worth the ride. The chicharones are the best my husband and I have ever had, the pan con lechon has pieces of chicharon great flavor and it’s all pork hardly no bread which I have never seen it’s usually the other way, they give you lime and delicious sauces with out having to ask for it

This place transports you straight to the Miami Cuban scene of the 1970s, and I genuinely feel at home here. The staff is an absolute delight, and the food is authentic. Prices are a bit steep, but that’s the norm in Miami these days. Let me elaborate, you can’t go wrong here. The atmosphere alone will captivate you. But trust me, you’ll want to return more often. Try their pan con lechón; it’s an absolute must-try!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Butcher Shop Restaurant, and it certainly lived up to the hype! From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for an authentic, mouth-watering experience. The pan con bistec was an instant favorite – incredibly tender, it literally melted like butter. It was undeniably the softest I’ve ever encountered, making each bite pure bliss.
Beyond that standout, their Cuban sandwich was indeed ‘dream worthy,’ a perfectly pressed symphony of flavors. I also thoroughly enjoyed the mojo steak and their rich, flavorful chicken fricassé; you can taste the dedication to fresh, in-house preparation in every dish. While it’s not a formal sit-down, its bustling, no-frills atmosphere felt genuinely inviting, perfect for focusing on the stellar food. I found the portions generous, and while some might consider it a bit pricey, the sheer quality and abundant flavors easily justify the cost. Though one dish had a hint more salt than I prefer, it was a minor note in an otherwise exceptional meal. This place is a true gem for meat enthusiasts, offering delicious, hearty Cuban cuisine that keeps you coming back. I can see why it has such a loyal following!

This place deserves more than just 5 stars. This is the BEST place for chicharron. If you haven’t had chicharron, it’s chunky pieces of pork and skin, super fried until the skin is crispy. Here, the flavor of the chicharron is incredible. You will never have something so tasty, so delicious, so crunch, and so excellent anywhere else in Miami!
They sell chicharron by the pound, and for 1 person, 1 pound is plenty. It is sold at $11.99/lb.
Don’t sleep on the pork sandwich (pan con lechon). This is going to be the other mind blowing item here! For $6.99, this sandwich is huge and stuffed with juicy pork. The pork is a variety of crispy, fatty, and tender pieces. It’s so good and needs no sauce or anything!
I also want to mention that staff are excellent, friendly, and super helpful. The lady at the front quickly helped me understand how their restaurant worked. All the staff making the food had smiles on their faces and were friendly as well.
As a recap, the best chicharron in the US is here. I also would get their pork sandwich and maybe a guava and cheese taqueño or pastelito.

Food is great, BUT, make sure to show up 30 minutes before closing because the workers are eager to leave. Its now happened multiple times that I we arrive 30 mins before closing only to find the workers have shut everything down. Nothing available for purchase, except maybe pork rinds. Great food, just keep that in mind. Service isnt the best.
