DON’T BOTHER! When other local restaurant, which is also a long time burger/gyro place in Palatine, was unfortunately closed, my husband went to Photos instead as we had a taste for gyros. He waited over 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge him in the drive thru, which never had. He attempted to call out for service while there, to no avail.
He finally went inside and the group in front of him took FOREVER to order/decide (not Photos fault, but they could have asked the group to step aside until they were ready OR had another cashier attend to my husband and other customers ). The place always seems like it’s run by a bunch of unsavvy, lackadaisical teenagers. Their prices are no bargain, and the gyros we brought home were literally the most disgusting gyros we’ve ever experienced. They were burnt, had lettuce on them (WHAT?!), and chopped onions rather than paper thin slices. We’ll never go back and we recommend going somewhere else to you as well. Photos is not worth it despite being right in town and convenient. Sorry Photos, you keep missing the mark.

Ordered an office lunch. Ordering was easy, delivery on time. 4 stars for easy experience. Delivery guy a little grumpy. Some of the food was good. Greek salads and onion rings great. Chicken pita and chicken gyros also very good. The beefs were dry, the gyros were bad. Most weren’t finished by our people. Gyros were burnt and dry. Chopped onions and lettuce on them. The beefs had minimum acceptable amount of meat. The gyros scant meat. Appreciate the ease with ordering. Disappointed by the gyros and beefs.

Real person here. My family goes to Photo’s in Palatine almost every weekend. Their website explains why it is called “Photo’s” but to build on that they have a ton of old cameras displayed in the restaurant and lots of photographs on the walls, especially celebrities and sports figures from past decades. A playful one of Chicago Bears great Walter Payton over the soda machine is one of my favorites. The staff is very friendly and nice, and we get our food promptly. The staff also decorates the restaurant for each season and that adds a bit of fun atmosphere that we appreciate. Also on the walls are lots of plaques of youth teams that Photo’s has supported over the years, so you know they are active in the community and supporting our young people. The food is very good, the atmosphere is great and the people are very nice. And they are a local business, not a chain. What more can you want? Oh yeah, free ice cream.

Great food all around. I love the gyros. My kids love the hot dogs and free ice cream. My wife likes the chicken gyros and beef sandwiches. Location is easy to access. Parking plentiful. Staff friendly. Go here!

I have been driving by this place for years, wondering what the food was like. I happened to be in the area last night and stopped in for a bite. I paid almost $18 for a “chicken pita” and a small coke – no fries, no additional sides. They even charged me extra for using a credit card. The chicken pita was ok – pre-cooked fajita looking chunks, a bit dry, with lettuce and tomato. Get real Photo’s owners – never again…lol. The food was so so, but nothing special. Go across the street and save $10 eating at Wendy’s…lol
Thank you for responding, and I understand that running a business is tough. But, how can you justify charging $4 for a small coke? Mind you, it is a 12oz plastic cup that the customer fills up themselves – just ridiculous. + $.50 for using a credit card. Come on buddy – get real.

What a fantastic place. It was such a surprise finding this gem. We stopped by with my son to get some food and the place blew our minds. It is very original and fun. There are so many things to look at. It has hundreds of different cameras on display and there are very interesting pictures on the walls of sport stars and local sport teams. The place was super clean and friendly.
We did wait a bit for our food but we were kept busy by the many interesting things all around. The food was great. I love a good hot dog and my son also enjoyed his burger. We came back again few weeks later. Highly recommend it for good American food.

I love their chili. It just keeps bringing me back there. They give you a coupon for a free hot dog and they have deals all week on all kinds of delicious things. Plus I’m always buying bags of ice for asmall cooler. Their 4lb bag is perfect and only $1.

Great atmosphere. Old school memorabilia everywhere. Friendly staff. I picked up a hot dog with some cheese curds. Normal tasting hotdog and the cheese curds were just salty cheesy goodness. I need to come back out and try their Gyros!

I only come for their specials during the week when I can. The prices are too high for me otherwise. I’m really disappointed that they discontinued their fish taco, that was an amazing fish taco. I love their $5 mini chicken pita on weds and their cheap cheeseburgers on Sundays! The pita is filled with chicken and lettuce (chicken can be a little to salty), and their cheeseburger has all the toppings for an amazing price. They have delicious veggie burgers. If they did a special for their veggie burgers once a week, I would be ordering it weekly. They also have amazing cheese curds!
I don’t care for their hot dogs, gyros, or fries. The gyro meat is pre-packaged like the ones you can make at home. I wouldn’t recommend the gyro.

Nice place. Definitely worth a visit if you live nearby or passing through but nothing to go out of your way for.
I had the Wednesday special which is a $5 pita and chicken with mayo.
Good. Wouldn’t say it’s amazing. Also the gyro is precut and not on a spindle! I’ll come try the hotdog next time, hopefully that’s the star of the show.
