This restaurant is OUTSTANDING! We made reservations earlier in the day and managed to squeeze a 6:30pm for a Saturday night. From the moment we stepped in we were welcomed by the host with warm hospitality, we were taken to a table directly in front of the open kitchen where we opted to sit side by side to watch the kitchen. We opted to try the Cinnamon Whiskey Sour and the Asian Pear both were very tasty. For an appetizer we tried the short rib bao buns, impressive those were top notch. As they are featuring steak month we opted for their special Skirt Steak and the filet, both cooked to perfection. For sides we chose the shells and cheese and the brussel sprouts, the sprouts were delicious. We decided to end our amazing dinner here with espresso martinis and some desserts to go, the croissant bread pudding and the house cheesecake which were both fantastic. This restaurant is a top on my list, everything from the service to the food was phenomenal, highly recommend!

Never had bad meal or service here. We did the sweet spot on Valentines Day. Second time booking this after attending last year. Desserts are out of this world in the coziest room with the fire. Anders was our server, and he was so wonderful. Attentive, engaging. Other reviewers have noted he is a professional Opera singer. To be serenaded in a small intimate setting with other couples with his incredible voice is something I’ll never forget. Thank you to the Lake House for a very memorable evening. You should sell those boxes of dessert, I would buy them everytime!

We were married at the Lake House, so this resort already holds a special place in our hearts — and every time we return, we’re reminded why we love it so much. The Rose Tavern is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and that warm, upscale aesthetic that the Lake House is known for.
We stopped in for lunch, and Dominique was our server. She was phenomenal — friendly, attentive, and so easy to talk to. We discovered we had a few things in common, and she made us feel right at home. She helped us pick the perfect drinks, and we shared the seasonal salad and the steak sandwich since we were planning on an early dinner. Everything was fresh and delicious. I ordered a mezcal cocktail with wonderfully complex flavors that I thoroughly enjoyed.
While chatting with Dominique, I mentioned another cocktail I liked, and Michael, the bartender, surprised me with a custom drink based on what I described — and it was incredible. The thoughtfulness and personal touch truly set this place apart.
What I love most about this resort is how such an elegant, high-end space still makes you feel completely comfortable. Lori Proper helped us with our wedding, and she was amazing then, so I asked if she was around. She came by, warmly greeted us, shared more about the Sands family vision, and even took us on a tour of the facility. That level of hospitality is rare, and we appreciated it so much.
The Rose Tavern and the entire Lake House team create an experience that feels both luxurious and genuinely welcoming. We can’t wait to return.

The Lake House has a fantastic restaurant called Rose Tavern. Make a reservation as this place is busy. The service and food are top notch. Perfect portions and priced right. I have had breakfast and dinner here. One of my breakfast choices was the eggs Benedict with the smoked salmon. I also had the yogurt with chia, granola, and berries. I also had a perfect omelet and pancakes another day. It was also fantastic. Mimosa and coffee. I had dinner too, pork chops, lamb chops were so delicious. I’ll let the photos do the talking. I didn’t need to go anywhere else, Rose Tavern has it all.

We had a lovely visit to the Rose Tavern on a wintry Friday night. Alyssa was our server and she did an excellent job taking care of us. The short rib was outstanding. Our only regret was not having the pleasure of being served by Brett. Apparently he is a living legend and was off the night we visited. We drowned our disappointment in local IPAs, bourbon and bread pudding.

Had a great dinner tonight. Wished we could have enjoyed a view of the water but we didn’t have a reservation. I got a coconut daiquiri which was scrumptious. Also, I got 2 appetizers instead a regular meal. Tuna crudo and the burrata. Both were outstanding. My boyfriend got local pork chop which I tried and it was wonderful. Do not miss the garlic mashed potatoes- amazing taste with chives and candied bacon . Our server David was excellent and had a warm personality.

We popped in at 2 this afternoon for a late lunch and were delighted with the entire dining experience. We greeted by a welcoming host who sat us immediately at a table with a lovely view of the lake. Our waiter was charming and attentive without being intrusive. Our Butternut Squash soup was delicious and our entrees were equally scrumptious (Tuna Melt with Truffle Fries and Short Ribbed Rigatoni). I cannot recommend this restaurant more strongly. Elegant, welcoming, delicious without being pretentious. Well done Rose Tavern.

Yes! For a perfect place to lunch. This was an ideal midpoint place to stop between Rochester and Geneva on the way to Cornell. The grounds were beautifully decorated for autumn. The restaurant has beautiful space, lovely views, great service and food.

The restaurant was wonderful. Wait staff was very welcoming, I did not have a reservation, but I went early. I suggest reservations, for it got very busy, very quickly. I had the pork chop – the chef suggested medium, and it was perfection. The clam chowder was so creamy delicious with crispy bread for dipping. The sticky brussel sprouts ?? OMG!! get them! I loved the flowerless chocolate cake and the snicker doodle cookie special dessert called Budino. EXCELLENT. Top notch luxury.

I didn’t go to a ton of restaurants during our Finger Lakes excursion, but this was one of the better ones. My cousin chums and I stopped by here for dinner this past Saturday right when it opened at 5pm (my kind of dinner time). Despite getting there so early there was a short wait/line in front of us, along with some bar patrons who’d clearly been on the premises for a while waiting for the kitchen to open again. Regardless, we were able to easily secure seating in a room with lake views – not their “main” seating area, but almost an atrium-like section; I’m sure it has a very sophisticated name that is beyond me. Anyway. Predictably a lot of nautical, Vineyard Vines vibes throughout, and all of the rooms we ended up in were super spacious, with high barn rafter style ceilings.
My palate wasn’t feeling too boozy so I just opted for a refreshing nip. I don’t see it on the online menu, but it was basically a rose spritz. Perfectly fine and did the job. One of my cousins got a little rambunctious and decided to go with a S’mores Old Fashioned which I tried – definitely too sweet for my palate, but she was quite pleased with it. I tend to like the smokier variations of this drink if you’re going to get a little crazy.
I’d accidentally grabbed a few burgers on the way up here so I wasn’t quite as hungry as I wanted to be – otherwise I very likely would have hit up some of the scrumptious meats I saw being prepped in the open kitchen (the steaks looked pretty legit). Instead I just got the burrata app with I believe a peach puree of sorts. Definitely tasty with a great presentation (everything that showed up on the table looked spiffy and magazine spread ready), and I enjoyed the accompanying bread. This is more of a personal palate issue, but I tend to double-down on the savory when it comes to burrata, rather than dancing around with balsamic reduction and other sweet shizzle, but that’s on me. Again, I did not put myself in a position to succeed earlier in the day.
The service was pretty good. Our waitress was very nice and offered some personal opinions about the menu (which I always like). She was a little less attentive in the second half of the meal as the place got more crowded, but nothing egregious in that regard.
Would come back, but I’d want to get a little more aggressive with both the dinner and cocktail menus – I feel like I didn’t totally tap into the biggest selling points for this establishment.
