*The Twisted Turtle Pub has been a destination I’ve heard about for a few years and I was finally able to come visit. I actually took detours and wasted time doing things I didn’t want just so I could show up at 2pm (opening time mountain time zone not central time zone) and have a chance for some amazing wood fired pizza.
*Smaller, old building in downtown with lots of character and really neat windmill fans on the ceiling.
I ordered the small pizza (comes with 5 toppings) with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, onions and green peppers. I am so thankful they offer sauces other than tomato sauce as I medically can’t have the tomatoes. I opted for the Alfredo sauce which was delicious as well!
*There was a very nice resident dog who walked around the dining area and apparently chose me as it’s favorite person in the restaurant
*Overall reaction? Make time to take the trip here for some amazing wood fired pizza. It was absolutely fantastic and I will come back when I’m in the general vicinity.

Absolutely loved this place!
Came here with a couple of mates and honestly didn’t expect much, but the pub was way better than we thought. The vibe was super chill, music wasn’t too loud, and the staff were actually really friendly, not like in some places where they act annoyed just because you walked in. The food slapped, no joke. I got a burger and chips and it was so good I was already thinking about ordering another one. Prices were decent too, which is amazing ’cause most places try to rob you these days. Overall, had a great time and would totally come back.

My husband and I travel to Gordon Nebraska to see our family alot. The day after Christmas we decided to go try The Twisted Turtle which is in a different town. There were 4 adults and 2 children, ages 7 and 1 .5 years old. We ordered 2 large pizzas and 1 small cheese pizza. We also ordered cheese sticks to hold us over until the pizza came. It wasn’t all that busy inside and had some pickups. If they are busy there is nothing we can do about it. But probably 30 – 40 mins our breadsticks came. I think it took an hour for the pizza. Nobody was happy especially the kids.
Nobody that worked there every came and said I’m sorry we are a little behind. They never made eye contact with us as they walked by a bunch of times. We even had to ask for refills on our drinks. It was like here is you food now leave us alone. When the pizza did come one was made wrong. Then made a small of the pizza they messed up. This is the first time in the 5 years coming to this part of Nebraska that we ever met rude people, especially at a business. The pizza was great, but not worth being treated bad.

Located in an old building that they have done a great job renovating. It is nice and warm by the brick oven and not your usual pizza. Aside from some of the usual favorites, you can be adventurous as well. Full bar, with TV s for sports.

We just moved to the area and have been trying to experience new foods. Our neighbors wanted to meet us at this pub and boy am I glad they did! Moving from steamboat co, we have been missing this type of atmosphere. Service here is friendly. Good here is fresh and possibly the most delicious pizza and pasta we have ever had… EVER!!! It is worth the drive (which is beautiful from Chadron to Rushville) for this incredibly delicious food that is cooked right in front of you. Before you go, especially on a weekend, do yourself a favor and call ahead to reserve seating.

First class place. This is a local favorite. Call ahead for reservations. I recommend this place to my friends. We are on our way between Denver and the Twin Cities. This is worth the trip.
