Joe’s Tequila Bar is an absolute gem! They have an incredible selection of small batch mezcal and the head bartender was so knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the different flavor profiles and origins in a way that made the experience both fun and educational. The other bartenders were just as considerate, happily answering questions and offering spot-on recommendations that helped me discover a few new favorites. The whole atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, and I left with not only a great buzz but also a much deeper appreciation for mezcal. I can’t wait to come back!

Category: Fine Food/Cocktail Bar There are many restaurants with walled courtyards in Santa Fe. This one, attached to the Inn on the Alameda Hotel, is one of the best, and it’s dog friendly. The courtyard is naturally shaded by old trees, with big umbrellas to fill the gaps. Heaters stand ready for cooler days and nights. The high adobe walls make this a secret garden of sorts, with lush greenery, brick floor, and teak tables. Of course the cocktail list is tequila-centric, offering margaritas and specialty cocktails. There are a few by-the-glass or by-the-bottle wine choices, and some beers, but agave is the star here. The menu offers “Pan American Flavors Spanning New Mexico to Argentina”, including shareables like ceviche (generous and delicious), quesadillas, tacos, and enchiladas, and mains like flat iron steak and a selection of burgers. The interior 6-seat bar and viga-ceilinged, sky-lit dining room also has a great feel, but if the weather is good you will want to sit outside. Outstanding tequila bar, even the most basic marg is delish, and the quesadilla, pico, guac are tops.

The restaurant is connected to our hotel we couldn’t pass on it. I got the chicken enchiladas and I got the green chili sauce and pico de gallo on the side so I can season the enchiladas to my liking. I got the house baked chicken and it was not spicy at all. The green chili sauce was spicy enough for me to add to the cheesy enchiladas. The sour cream and fresh guacamole just enhanced the flavors. I asked for all rice and no beans and our waiter talked me into trying the pinto beans and I’m glad he did. We had a very attentive and patient waiter. This restaurant has a strong “fun” vibe to it. I’ll be back tomorrow for a margarita.

Isabel is the shizzle! Did a great job recommending mezcal and tequila flights, working within our price range, and talking to each of the selections. Got a good one there. Food and atmosphere were great as well. Will be coming back next time we’re in Santa Fe.

Accidentally showed up here after three other places didn’t work out, and I’m SO GLAD the other plans failed! This place was perfect, from the drinks to the food to the friendliest service at our little table tucked away by the fireplace. Definitely saving room for dessert next time, because we were overstuffed after our margs, nachos, soup and enchiladas (all of which I’d order again!).

Joe’s was a fabulous experience. They have such an extensive tequila it is overwhelming. The bar tender and other tequila specialists gave me great recommendations to suit my tastes and helped me put together a fabulous tequila flight.

My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience at Joe’s Tequila Bar. Our Server, Tenzin W, was impressive! He was attentive and helpful. He was friendly and made dining a pleasure. He excels in the Hospitality Industry. We recommend the Vegetarian Tortilla Soup, the Tacos, and the carrot cake. We can’t wait to return!
