Had an absolutely amazing time. The crab soup is award winning. The atmosphere is so serene and calming. The short ribs were cooked to perfection and the steak was so delectable and tender. Daisy tops off the food with exemplary customer service. Will definitely recommend this one

We enjoyed a lovely dinner after a long drive from DC area. We received a warm welcome, had no wait for a table, and received attentive service from Daisy.
We had cocktails and shared a couple of appetizers (scallops with pea puree and smoked Gouda Arancini) and a beet salad with goat cheese and local honey. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend!
Can’t wait to come back for entrees and a seat in the cozy room with a fireplace or the patio when the weather is warmer.

What was meant to be a joyful celebration for my friend’s birthday quickly turned into an incredibly disappointing and disturbing experience.
We chose what appeared to be a cozy, elegant restaurant, expecting attentive service and a pleasant atmosphere. Instead, we were met with behavior from our server, Brittany, that was shockingly disrespectful, condescending, and dismissive.
At one point, we were told, “Why did you even come here?” and “This is a waste of our time.” Hearing those words during what was supposed to be a celebration felt dehumanizing and humiliating. No guest should ever be spoken to in that manner — especially in a professional dining establishment.
While other staff members appeared kind and helpful, the repeated comments and tone we experienced from this server created an atmosphere that was hostile and uncomfortable. The treatment we received felt targeted and deeply inappropriate.
We are professionals in our respective fields, well-traveled, and come from diverse cultural backgrounds. We understand hospitality standards across cities and countries. What we experienced was not a misunderstanding — it was unacceptable customer service and a complete breakdown of professionalism.
A restaurant’s ambiance means very little when guests are made to feel unwelcome and disrespected. This was not simply poor service — it was a deeply unpleasant and demeaning interaction that overshadowed what should have been a beautiful family moment.
Extremely disappointing.

Some food was very good, some was bland. I highly recommend, if you do go, to get their pan seared scallops. In general, though, I would not recommend going. The food choices did not seem to match at all the atmosphere of the restaurant– I went to lunch and all they offered were sandwiches for their entrees; it seemed very casual for a tablecloth restaurant. The sandwich that I ordered, the crab cake on brioche, was not good. The crab cake itself was amazing, but it’s clear that it shouldn’t be forced into a sandwich. I also really did not appreciate that I ordered my appetizer when we initially ordered my drinks, and I waited 30 minutes to get my dish which was the entree I ordered way afterwards– not my appetizer. I had to remind the waitress what I ordered and only afterward did I get my scallops. I also asked if I could have a non-alcoholic version of a cocktail, and she said she maybe could. She never came back to let me know if they actually could based on the ingredients there, she just went ahead and made the non-alcoholic version and it just ended up tasting like a poor lemonade I paid $12 for. While I was in the restroom, my friend notified the waitress that I wanted to order dessert when I came back, and when I did come back she already had the checks on our table. I had to ask her to take it back so I could order my dessert. In general, I felt like I was a bother to my waitress, and she consistently forgot about / did not take care of my menu orders. And again, the food simply did not match the atmosphere of the restaurant. I hope the experience is very different for dinner, but I would not recommend this place for lunch.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience needs to be shared.
My friends and I dined here recently, and unfortunately, our experience with our waitress, Brittany, was extremely disappointing. We are professionals with established careers, well-traveled, and come from diverse cultural backgrounds. We were polite, respectful, and patient throughout our meal.

When half the table steaks were not prepared properly and we expressed dissatisfaction in a calm and respectful manner, Brittany responded in a rude, dismissive, and condescending way. She stated, “I don’t know what the big deal is,” and told us we were “wasting their time.” Her tone and behavior felt prejudiced and disrespectful from the beginning and continued throughout the interaction.

As people of color, it is difficult not to question whether bias played a role in how we were treated. No one should feel dismissed or belittled while simply asking for their meal to be corrected.

Once we were finally able to speak with the manager, Amy, she was kind, professional, and handled the situation appropriately. We appreciated her willingness to listen and resolve the issue.

However, the treatment we experienced from Brittany was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. We left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Based on this experience, we will NEVER come back!

This was by far the best restaurant we went to on vacation we had crab dip a large salad crab soup crab cakes and a caramel cheesecake a la mode. By far the best crab you will ever have any where learned the history of the place was built in 1868.

Don’t waste your time, money, and energy if you’re a person of color dining here if your waitress is Brittany. She was extremely rude and prejudice towards my family. She didn’t want to help us when we were dissatisfied with our steaks and said “I don’t know what the big deal is” and said “we were wasting their time.” As soon as we finally got the manager Amy, she was so nice and actually helped us resolved the issue. I’ve never felt so dismissed in my life at a restaurant, extremely unprofessional for Brittany to do this to us. Will never be dining here again.

What was supposed to be a night of celebration and joy quickly became a nightmare thank to the server name Brittany. A cozy and elegant restaurant was home to the most disrespectful, condescending, rude and dismissive server that made my sister’s birthday dinner a nightmare. To hear “why did you even come here” “this is a waste of our time” was truly a dehumanizing experience, and though the other staff did seem kind and helpful but the multiple insults, compliments of Brittany, felt very Jim crow era. This type of treatment is something you only see in game shows and comedy movies. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Do not waste your time or money here if your waitress is Brittany. The level of disrespect, prejudice, and unprofessional behavior we experienced was shocking. We are professionals, well-traveled, and come from diverse cultural backgrounds. We were polite and patient, yet Brittany was rude, condescending, and dismissive from start to finish. When we calmly addressed improperly cooked steaks, she said, “I don’t know what the big deal is” and told us we were “wasting their time.” Her tone was belittling and completely unacceptable.

Manager Amy, however, was professional and resolved the issue appropriately. Brittany’s behavior alone is why we will not return.
