This was probably the best restaurant meal I have eaten in my 73 years! I had the Seafood Gratin Doria. The seafood was cooked to perfection and the underlying rice was wonderful. The seasoning was spot on. Don’t expect to get large quantities of food requiring a “doggie bag” as you will be served a portion which is just the right size and you will eat every morsel! The only disappointment was the lack of customers. I was by myself in the dining room for lunch. This is ridiculous as the food is terrific and not expensive.

An absolutely amazing ambiance, gorgeous decor, luxury tables and chairs, an award winning chef from Japan would medaled in Iron Chef Japan, and a bar tender, Cameron, who is incredibly personable and kind. I highly recommend you check out this place before it’s all booked up!

The ribeye and the pork curry are out of this world. Atmosphere -1 star because of you dim the lights a little bit it would be absolutely perfect!

Very surprised at the high quality of the food! Granted, my expectations for a hotel bar wern’t all that high. But I’ve paid twice as much for lesser fare. Portion size quite adequate though presented, quite well, on deceptively large plates. Had beef tenderloin saltimbocca and pork shoulder steak – Japanese style. All tender and tasty. House made all, including the uncommonly good tirsmisu. Aiden, our server, knew the menu well and was a big help choosing among the special offerings. We now have a new favorite for taking special guests.

We visited the restaurant at Cedartree Hotel, which is said to be the first U.S. location opened by Urban Hotel from Kyoto. The interior is stylish and bright, with a small Japanese garden visible through the windows.
We came for lunch and ordered the Japanese-style Pork Katsu Curry ($20) and the Seafood Gratin Doria ($19) from the lunch menu. The katsu curry came with a small, elegantly presented side salad, and the curry tasted just like what you’d get in Japan. The seafood doria was served piping hot in an iron pan, and it had a refined, delicate flavor. Both dishes were delicious!

Such a disappointing first experience! My wife and I were excited to try this restaurant after reading all the details (menus) on their website. We wanted to try Chef Kenji’s Japanese/Northwest food with French technique but instead had some odd subset..I’m really glad this wasn’t a special occasion! The restaurant was bright, sterile and had loud American pop music playing. We were told that due to a staffing issue, the menu was limited to a burger, chicken wings or pizza and that the full menu was available an hour later. We were also offered the menu from the adjacent sake bar Kiyomizu which was closed, unfortunately. So, we ordered from the Kiyomizu menu which is like a “tapas menu” of small Japanese-inspired plates. After ordering, our server came back to say that two of the items we ordered were not available. Not sure why, but we did the best we could.

Clams steamed in sake was a tasty dish. Edamame were mushy, cold and overcooked. Marinated salmon with dill was ok but the salmon slices were very thick and somewhat fishy. (When you have a dish that is 90% salmon a bit of lemon and capers to go along, it’s pretty much a slab of salmon). The “Beef seared over high heat and thinly sliced with ponzu sauce” had been seared at some point but was served cold and not thinly sliced. Cold beef fat is not very appealing after a couple of bites. The grilled rice balls were ok since we were hungry and some rice was quite filling. The Japanese-style fried chicken was hot and tasty.

Our server was very strange and should not be working in a restaurant. He was not welcoming when we sat down, spoke very quickly and was very hard to understand. He rapidly mentioned the 3 items that were available, until 1hr later, but this other menu was available, but then not these 2 items, etc. He would come by and mumble something then walk away. Absolutely not the right type of server to work in a fine dining restaurant.

We do not plan to return until we understand what is going on with this place.

This place feels like a hidden gem (probably because it’s still relatively new). Our server was very attentive and makes a mean cocktail. As for the food, we ordered the pork katsu and mixed fried seafood, both of which were delicious. I Highly recommend Waterfalls and will be back.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had! Terrible service. Me and my boyfriend ordered dinner. When my meal finally came out it was cold and my boyfriend’s food didn’t come out with it. We waited another 30 mins and his food still didn’t come out. Other customers that came in after us were getting their food. We eventually decided to leave and they tried charging us for the meal my boyfriend never got. A horrible experience, we had to go across the street after to the grocery store to get a sandwich for him since the service was so bad and he was never even served. Never going back.
