The staff was all super friendly. Most of the time we were there we were the only people eating in (there was a steady stream of takeout orders though), but we still got the perfect amount of service where we knew they knew we were there, without feeling like they were hovering.
We ate on the dog friendly patio. The salad bar was well stocked and had all the essentials. Olives, eggs, baby corn, cheese, pretty much everything you’d expect from your classic salad bar. They also had mac salad, and cottage cheese for variety I guess. Totally worth it to spring for the all you can eat instead of a single pass, so you can load up on ranch for your pizza.
We opted for a simple cheese pizza. It was out sooo fast. It was the classic “pizza party” style: wafer thin crust, cheese to the very edges, and enough sauce to be noticeable without causing the cheese to slide off on the first bite.
In all honesty, the food was fine, but the whole place really hit the nostalgia itch, so the 10 out of 5 atmosphere balances out the 4.5 out of 5 food. When you walk in the door they have those coin-operated machines with a bit of candy, or some plastic jewelry, or a really small toy. Besides the LED lights, that’s the other hint you didn’t wake up from a coma back in 1999, because the machines are 50 cents instead of 25. The arcade machines have CRT screens and a gentle hum that I didn’t know I missed.
Honestly the experience of coming here was perfect. I felt like we just finished a little league game, and we were about to order a couple of large pizzas for the team, then the parents will talk about whatever adults talk about while us kids crowd around the arcade machine and watch that one kid who was good at games get further than we thought humanly possible on just a couple of quarters. It’s the type of nostalgia that one day will sell me products when I’m old and grey and can no longer clearly remember those halcyon moments, but today in this Round Table Pizza I could remember and feel those exact moments as if they were last Saturday.
They had a specialty pizza on sale for $20. I ordered a cheese and they wanted to charge me $30. The owner refused to discount my pizza and told me I needed to leave.
I dont even think they are part of the round table franchise. This place is disgusting.
Long story short, I walked away and I will never return to this place ever again. Hopefully I will hear back from the corporate office, otherwise, I am not returning to any round table pizza place ever.
