I hadn’t dined at the Basil Leaf in locust valley for a very long time and I’m so happy I returned there for a birthday celebration. The outdoor patio is very cozy and inviting. It takes you away and makes you feel like you’re in another country. It’s a charming place with lots of different eating areas so it feels very intimate no matter where you are. The food was very good and they have so much on the menu. (It’s almost overwhelming.) The service was very good and the desserts were excellent as well. Nice place to catch up with friends over a good meal.

This is a wonderful place. The food, location and service were all top notch. I don’t understand the negative comments here about the manager, as we found him to be gracious and very helpful

Delicious food and service. I can’t wait to come back. I’ll definitely recommend to get the Vitelli Tonneto ( I felt like home with that dish). Desserts are al $10 which it caught our attention. We loved that! The chocolate cake was amazing! IMPORTANT: tip is in CASH only

Top restaurant in the North Shore, has been here since the early 90’s and I’ve been going my entire life. Having just moved back to the area I’m happy to be a constant customer of this amazing establishment again. The staff is the same, the recipes are the same. All the dishes are extremely consistent. Local celebrities without saying names are customers. It’s one of those red sauce joints that just hits the spot every time without breaking the bank in an unreasonable way. Whenever you’re looking for a solid Italian experience basil leaf and it’s service never disappoint. These employees live for this as if it’s a cottage industry they all sleep in. The passion shows through the food.

You won’t be disappointed at Basil Leaf. It has the feel of Italy in its outdoor seating, the food is fantastic as well as the professional waiters. Get dressed and go out on a date for a romantic evening and a glass of wine of course!

It’s incredible how one toxic manager can ruin what could have been a lovely experience. The place is charming, the food is good and our waitress was absolutely wonderful. But the manager? Shockingly rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. We are never coming back!

First-time customer. Service slow with bringing in the bread. Food was 4/5. It was very empty for lunch. For the steep prices, it was annoying to hear two females doing their business transactions there. Such a shame for such a nice place. Oh and as you read what you like off the menu in English, the waiter says it in really bad Italian as he writes down your order. Again, classy place, but where is the classy service and classy environment?

The manager refused to seat me and my girlfriend outside with my two service dogs. He was being extremely disrespectful and wouldn’t even let us speak and starting yelling “No dogs” before we even stepped foot into the restaurant. Super disappointed and will never give my business to this rude institution.
