This is a super cute place. I went on trivia night, how fun. I got a good baked Mentally I am here. At this time no food at this establishment but you can order from near by restaurants. They were working with one bar tender so it did take 10 mins to get a drink on a Wednesday

It is with a heavy heart that I leave a negative review for a local business, but 3 strikes and I’m done. Terrible service the first visit, second I brought friends in to see an advertised band that was canceled without notice. My last visit we ordered 2 drinks and food for a quick happy hour. Finished the drinks and after half an hour the bartender (the only employee there) had to leave the building to pick up the food- which was handed to me cold. So for almost $50, we got 2 drinks, a small handful of cold fries and 5 tiny cold dumplings. Unacceptable. ✌️

As someone who is particularly sensitive about hygiene, this experience was distressing and left us with a very negative impression. A clean glass is a basic expectation, and failing to meet that standard undermines trust in the establishment as a whole.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place. There are plenty of other bars down the street that know how to serve a drink properly I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue to ensure better quality control in the future. Until then, I cannot recommend this bar and suggest choosing other options in the area where cleanliness is guaranteed.

Great bar to goto! Sunday nights at 5 they have karaoke with a solid atmosphere of encouragement for everyone who goes up! Everyone makes me feel so welcome, the staff and the guests! Definitely a place to go when you want to have a great time!

We went to eat dinner last night at Nomad, fabulous food as always, and our bartender informed us that The Rookery was open so we decided to take a short stroll and check it out. So glad we did!!!! The interior was beautifully decorated! We were greeted with smiles, the service was incredible and there was live music. We ended up staying until closing time because we were enjoying the atmosphere so much. We were even offered bar snacks of popcorn and a pretzel mix, which was a nice touch. We can’t wait to go back!

Went to a get together where food was provided by an outside source so can’t speak to that aspect. Service was great and staff was super helpful, however the live music left a lot to be desired. The volume was so loud that we practically needed to yell to speak to the guests beside us. The singers voice was very 1 dimensional. Think Nickelback with less production value and singing popular songs from the last few decades. Very odd choice to have during a reserved event.

The moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the interior. It has the most beautiful, cozy garden vibe. We were greeted with a warm smile, the service was incredible, and we were lucky enough to catch some amazing live music.
We ended up staying until closing because the atmosphere was just that enjoyable. The drinks were great and truly unique, and the bar chairs were so comfortable! With all the special events like karaoke and trivia nights, we’ll definitely be back. You can also order Nomad to deliver right to you at the bar! This is a real gem in town!

This is Madison Gates. I have been a member of the town since the late 90s.
I enjoy bars, and I love beer, as do my friends. The Rookery is just okay. I really wish they hadn’t stopped the Karaoke part. The owners are a little disconnected with what the town needs or wants in this building. It has nothing to do with their background; they have a nice restaurant down the street.
You can’t decorate a bar like the way it is and have no parking for your business. I am always scared I am going to get towed.
As a person with tons of friends, there is no reason at all not to offer food. At least offer chicken wings, nachos, something.
I always see the burrito restaurant down the street, and sometimes a food truck outside. Maybe do a connection with them.
The drinks are way too expensive; Hillsborough people cannot afford this place, which is why this place is suffering.
It is way too dark for a bar, and if you are going to make it a bar, add pool tables, add TVs with stuff people want to watch, and maybe add country music from modern times, not music that most don’t know.
Whoever is running this business, please come to your senses and read this. The last few times I went there were hardly any people there.
One of the few associates there made my experience the best I have ever had. He is the one with the amazing singing voice and who used to do Karaoke and made me a cool, bright orange drink.
I hope the owners realize they need to come to terms if they don’t fix this bar, they will lose it, unless that’s what they want.

What can i say about the rookie. It’s a nice bar. Drinks are good. Atmosphere is a little dull but one associate makes up for the atmosphere and missing food. that is Johnathan

Was bouncing around town with a friend yesterday and stopped in for a couple of cocktails. The place looks great! Bartender was very friendly and mixed a couple really good cocktails for us.
