I used to love this place and go here very often during college..however I came back recently after 7 years and the donburis did not taste as good as it used to. There seems to be way too much rice that it’s not getting crisp like it used to and seems to be lacking in protein. The quality went down which was disappointing.

House of Teriyaki. There’s so much to say about this place. Between the flavors, the environment, and the service. Today we were waited on by a very nice young man. Daniel. He was pleasantly patient and intuitive to our every need. Easily the best waiter. Every single time I come here I’m absolutely blown away. Their food options especially are beyond words. The chicken fried rice is best here than literally anywhere else I’ve been. I also have a wonderful place in my heart for their ginger pork. Oh. They’re ginger tea blends perfectly with every single dish, providing a pleasant subtle cleanse of your palate refreshing every bite you take allowing you to savor the flavor of each and every bite.
Finally just in case you don’t believe me. I travel just about an hour just to eat here as often as I can.

Honestly, the food was so good that I had no choice but to leave a review. I used to live near Koreatown in California, where incredible Korean food is everywhere, and I can say objectively—this place is even better.
The gentle, beautiful music playing in the background shows just how sincere and thoughtful the owner is. And let me add—their Japanese dishes are top-notch as well.
House of Teriyaki is a must-visit restaurant in Amherst.
Trust me—you won’t regret it.

I’ve been here a few times, and every time I go, either in person or for take-out, I find that the food falls a bit short. Dine-in is certainly better than take-out, but that’s usually a given at most places. I always try to give the sushi a chance, but both the rolls and nigiri have been kind of off every time I’ve went. Overall, the food is pretty tasty for dine in and if really fresh. I think that the donburi, soups, and bulgogi are good options. However, the sushi has never been what brings me to this restaurant. The staff is also very nice!

House of Teriyaki is an Asian restaurant located right outside the UMass Amherst campus, with a decently sized dining room.

The staff were friendly and brought out the food quite quickly.

The food was alright. I got the tteokbokki, which was on the spicy side but overall quite tasty. The bibimbap had good portion sizes, and had a nice mix of toppings on it. Overall was pretty good, does lean on the expensive side but not surprised given the location it is in.

Overall, a decent try for any students in the area.

They have a great and diverse menu. The chicken teriyaki was absolutely delicious, and the portion was generous and very filling. And definitely try their mochi ice creams; they’re truly amazing!

If you haven’t tried the seafood noodle (jjamgbbong) pardon my spelling – at this place it is a must have. You can cutomize the spicy level if you can’t see too spicy food. I asked for mild and it was superb! Price is too good to be true and I genuinely believe they should charge some more. How do you order four plates at a Japanese sushi place and the overall price is less than 80 is still a big mystery to me. The servers are great and the owner is great too!

Best Asian food I’ve ever had! The flavors were absolutely incredible—fresh, authentic, and beautifully presented. On top of that, the service was top-notch: friendly, attentive, and fast. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

Delicious! First time I had eaten here and did takeout – chicken Yaki Udon was very good, along with the Egg Roll (came with 5), and Gyoza – I chose 2 for spiciness for the udon and was perfect! Will definitely order here again

Lovely interior and very quick staff. All entrees came with a side salad and a side miso soup as an appetizer. Both were great and justified meal prices. Worth a try if you are in the mood for Japanese food and around Amherst.
