This place opened in August 2024. I liked this place a lot better than Panda Express.
I ordered the following:
1) Appetizer-Very Good-Steamed Szechuan Chili Dumplings (pork) $10.95
Great flavor and a good amount of spice. I loved the crushed peanuts on top
2a) Main Entree-Very Good-Emperor Tso’s Chicken (all white meat and no nasty chicken pieces) $13.45
I really liked the flavor and the serving size. I ate half of it and finished the leftovers the next day
2b) Main Entree’s starch-Not Good-Vegetable (“Not-so” [meaning air fried]) Fried Rice $1.50
*Better off sticking with white rice and not paying extra for this*
3) Dessert-Not Good-Strawberry M?CHI $4.95
I can’t recommend getting this here. Had better and fresher Mochi from Hawaii and California.
4) Drink-Good-Just Ice Tea Prach Oolong Tea (16 oz) $3.25
*They do offer a military discount *
Total with tax and discount $33.39
I dropped the rating down a star as the Not-so fried rice was not what I was expecting; I definitely am more fond of the traditional fried rice. Also, the Mochi was so-so.
The chicken was good..it would’ve been great if crispy but probably because we had it delivered I get that ..the egg roll was crispy BUT tasted like ham? Very odd, not tasty at all and the duck sauce had a weird flavor as well. The fried rice was good we really enjoyed it, the lo mein was good, the broccoli with steak that I paid an extra 4$ for would’ve been outstanding BUT it was so salty after a bite we couldn’t eat it, had to throw away, totally inedible and such a shame because broccoli was cooked perfectly and the beef was good quality and sliced very nicely. The dumplings …the inside was decent the dough was like cardboard consistency…I get everything not actually fried and I appreciate that…that’s why we tried it BUT the consistency of that dough was horrendous. This is definitely a one and done for us.
However, there were too many staple pins on the takeout packaging, leading to scratches on two occasions.
I had the pleasure of dining at MÓGŪ Modern Chinese Kitchen, and the experience was elevated by two incredible servers—Damon and Freddy. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Their attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism were unmatched. Damon anticipated every need with grace, while Freddy’s upbeat energy and thoughtful recommendations made the meal even more enjoyable.
It’s rare to find service that feels both personal and polished, but these two nailed it. MÓGŪ is lucky to have them, and I’ll definitely be coming back—not just for the delicious food, but for the kind of hospitality that Damon and Freddy deliver effortlessly.
Highly recommend this spot if you want great food and even better people!
Because this is near where I work, I prefer to put my order out quickly then get back to work before heading out during my lunch period so I don’t waste any time in between. So far, this has always worked for me with MOGU. The food is always finished before the estimated time and it’s always as good so I never have any complaints. It’s why I tend to go to MOGU than any other store nearby as their estimated times have always been reliable so far.
When it’s relatively busy during the lunch hour, there are still plenty of seats available so whether you want to quickly grab-and-go or eat there, you can choose whichever suits you.
The portion sizes are average. They’re not so small that you want more but they’re not so large that you’re typically taking some food home. Since this place is going to be more expensive than a typical Chinese restaurant, I’d keep that into consideration.
In my case, MOGU fills a convenience need more than anything. It’s nothing substantial or extraordinary but it is very close to work, I get my food on time and I enjoy it which is why I tend to come here several times a month.
The restaurant is a fast food style restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere but no fountain drinks available here… I was turned off about that knowing it’s probably going to cost $5 for 2 cans of soda for just one person.
The food was good, portions were just adequate but the prices here were through the roof for fast food… $75 for just the food for 4 people without beverages!
The food was good, not as tasty as traditional Chinese food but that’s the trade off for healthier cooking.
So we tried it, it was good but it’s doubtful we’ll return… The value for the money is just of whack here… Most new restaurants opening in the area are going sky high with the prices… Example, a burger without fries for $20.
Too bad here because the restaurant has a lot of good but there are many better choices for a $100 bill.
