Tried here yesterday for the first time. As you guys have had great reviews. I figured let’s give it a shot. Had a craving for oxtails ordered an order of oxtails with rice and peas have great flavor but lacked oxtails. I had a plate full of rice and peas and 2 pieces of oxtail very disappointing. And the other meals that I had ordered were of the same issue

I’ve been here a total of three times and the first two times where great the food was amazing (oxtails curry chicken) Both dishes were well seasoned full of flavor just chef’s kiss . But yesterday the oxtails were tough and full of fat. So unfortunate especially after waiting for the restaurant to open back up from what I’m guessing was vacation. I don’t want to give up on this place the food is too good Please let the oxtails cook down more . Looking forward to trying again.

Thank you to the 2 lovely ladies that help us today, The oxtail was amazing with the white rice and plantains, the curry goat taco and jerk-chicken taco were amazing, I definitely recommend coming here. We are definitely coming back to try all the other foods. Very delicious.

The newest and most convenient Jamaican eatery located on the mid-main corridor in the city of Poughkeepsie. In a locale with numerous other eateries, this business stands out since it opening hours are convenient, menu quite diverse, atmosphere family oriented. The business location opens as early as 7am and closes at 11pm. Adequate parking is available along the main street and within the business parking facility. Care should be taken when parking on main street since a parking fee is required during the week up till 6pm. Weekends are free.

Pleasantly surprised!! There are so many Jamaican restaurants to choose from in Poughkeepsie that serve the same menu & never have what you want to order etc. I was so happy when I got my meal bc it was freshly cooked right out of the pan. The portion was enough for 2 people and to top it off they have home made ice cream The owner Simone introduced herself & was so polite & courteous. She went out of her way to make sure that my order was exactly how I wanted. Wish I could give it 10 . YES SIMONE!! KEEP DOING YOUR THING

My husband & I went to Hellshire for lunch. He had the curry goat and I had the oxtails. Both of us added rice & beans and cabbage. OMG!!! The goat and oxtails were so tender! Both dishes were were very flavorful! The staff was also very nice and professional. We will definitely go back again!

Took the family out for a late lunch and ice cream. Food was great and great quality. Ice cream phenomenal. You can find a place anymore that makes their own ice cream. This place does and is every bit high quality. Highly recommend if your in the mood for something different and want a nice Caribbean meal.
