I visited a Korean sushi place in Buena Park, CA, and tried their assorted sashimi combo, it was incredibly generous and offered excellent value. The combo featured several types of fish, including tuna, salmon, halibut, and two white-fleshed varieties perfect for dipping in Korean gochujang sauce. The dish was served with crisp perilla leaves and an assortment of sides. To top it off, I enjoyed a delicious fish roe egg soup (al tang) and a bomb abalone porridge.

Also, the servers were incredibly sweet and attentive, which only enhanced the dining experience. Plus, if you’re in the mood for drinks, they offer alcohol, making it a fun spot to join friends for a night out (although I didn’t partake).

Overall, I’d rate this place a solid 10/10 for its food quality, service, and ambiance.

Note: Unlike Japanese sashimi, which is typically flash-frozen, Korean sashimi (hwal) is often served with live fish, ensuring an exceptionally fresh taste. Enjoy!

I had a wonderful dining experience at Kuni Sashimi.
The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Every dish showed great attention to quality and detail.

Even though the restaurant was very busy, the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. They took the time to make us feel welcome and cared for, which made the experience even more special.

Thank you to the entire team for the great food and warm service. I truly appreciate the effort and dedication. I look forward to coming back again!

We were so very welcomed when we entered the restaurant. I had my service dog for my medical support and had her in the stroller. We were very happy how they welcomed and cared for our service dog from the beginning to the end. We were party of 5(adults), ordered Assorted Sashimi Combo Large($239.99) & 2 Large Hot Sake to celebrate my father-in-law’s 77 yrs old birthday. All of our family members really enjoyed every single food they served; so satisfied & enough portions of food.
We liked its reservation system, the food serving system, and the servers’ manners. Servers were very attentive to keep the flow of food being served. Strongly recommend this restaurant and will surely visit again.

No wait on a Thursday night for 4 people. We ordered the medium sashimi platter that came with a ton of sides, tuna sashimi and uni pasta. Everything was delicious and the variety made us feel like we were at a buffet. The staff is so friendly and sweet here.

Kuni Sashimi – Now Serving Mini Sashimi Combos! ✨

If you’ve been wanting to try Kuni Sashimi but hesitated because of their massive portions, you’re in luck! They just introduced NEW Mini Sashimi Combos ($65)—perfect for a date night or bestie dinner without committing to a huge platter. You still get the same fresh, high-quality sashimi, plus all the extras like porridge, corn cheese, miso soup, steamed egg, and spicy fish soup—so worth it!

I mainly came back to check out their new menu, but surprise twist—the Spicy Sea Eel Stir Fry ($28.95) lowkey stole the show! Spicy, savory, and packed with flavor—definitely a must-try!

✨ Why You Should Go:

✔ Mini sashimi options = less commitment, same great quality
✔ Still comes with all the delicious side dishes
✔ Perfect for sharing & variety lovers!

⭐ Overall Rating: 9.5/10
(9.5 because everything literally was good but uni pasta wasn’t just what I was looking for, but they do have really good uni and creamy taste )
Must-Try: Mini Sashimi Combo & Spicy Sea Eel Stir Fry
Parking: Free plaza parking—super easy!

I was feeling adventurous and decided to check out Kuni Sashimi House, a Korean and Japanese fusion restaurant in Buena Park. The food was fresh, delicious, and generous. I ordered the tacos, which were actually sashimi wrapped in seaweed with various toppings. They were amazing and flavorful, and came in a metal taco holder that made me feel like a cowboy. The sashimi was very fresh and tender, and the sauces were spicy and tangy. I also tried some of their other dishes, such as the live octopus, the oysters, and the uni pasta. They were all very good and satisfying, but not as good as the tacos.

The place was very cozy and nice, with a farmhouse chic decor and windows that let in natural light. The service was friendly and attentive, and they checked on us frequently. They also brought us many side dishes that came with the sashimi combo, such as soup, salad, rice, kimchi, and more. They were all tasty and complemented the main dishes well, but not as well as the tacos.

I would highly recommend Kuni Sashimi House to anyone who loves sashimi or wants to try something different and creative. They have a variety of dishes to choose from, ranging from traditional to fusion. They also have breakfast, brunch, bakery, and catering options. They source their ingredients from local farms and their own farm in Temecula, which makes their food fresh and organic. Kuni Sashimi House is a hidden gem that delivers quality and taste, especially the tacos.

Great set menu as well as other good options like chirasi, hot fish soup, etc at reasonable price. All are delicious. Service is great. I have been there several times already and will visit again for any Korean style Japanese food.

EXTREMELY RASCIST Environment! If I could give negative stars I would. Im not a troll. Im an African American who wanted authentic Korean food. I am a US Army Veteran and fought for this country. To be treated this way in this day and age especially in California is despicable! Terrible service for non Koreans and Im disgusted by the experience. Do not go here unless you are Korean. The energy in this room is honestly disturbing how you are stared at and looked upon and the servers ignore you and they only tend to their own kind. Its disgusting! Had to take pictures and warn people not even out of spite but because I dont want anyone else to experience that and they need to be checked!

Recommended by locals. The place was almost full, and I saw some good reviews. So expectation was high. My wife ordered these two dishes, 물회 and 꼼장어볶음. Total was $50. They looked great as you can see in the picture. Normally followed by “these are delicious.” However, that never came out of my mouth. 물회 had more noodles than 회. It was more like 회냉면 with flavorlessbroth. 꼼장어 came out sizzling hot sitting on caramelized onions with sliced garlic and pepper. Dipping sauce was pretty good, and I enjoyed. However, again there was lack of flavor and slightly burnt taste to it. I felt like they just copied from someone’s menu without making them their own. We saw other dishes that people ordered around our table. They all looked good, and maybe we just ordered wrong dishes. We may give them the benefit of the doubt and give them another shot next time but I am very disappointed with our dinner.

We had a FEAST at Kuni Sashimi House in Buena Park, California, at $139.99 for their Small Assorted Sashimi Combo, which includes halibut, salmon, tuna, yellowtail and octopus. ✨The menu says it feeds 2 people, but the never ending 20+ accompanying side dishes will make you question if they meant to write 4 instead!✨

In addition to the freshest and tastiest sashimi, we had: kimchi, cold kimchi soup, miso soup, apple potato salad, edamame, soy marinated shrimp, oysters, corn cheese, steamed egg, takoyaki, fried rice cakes, hamburger patty, takoyaki, sausages, smoked mackerel, pork katsu, poke tacos, fried tacos, tempura, onion pancake, and spicy seafood soup.

Every bite here was so tasty and it truly felt like we were taken care of by their attentive, welcoming staff We will be back to try their fresh uni!
