We came back here again after 3 months, and I’m happy to report, it’s even better than I remembered! The one issue I had the last time had been happily solved — I took another chance and ordered the scallop nigiri, and this time it was really fresh and yummy! And as an added bonus, the service was even nicer and more personable than before. Definitely 5/5 all around!
We’ve tried at least 4-5 AYCE sushi places in Reno, and this is tied with Hinoki Sushi as our favorite spot. The sushi was pretty fresh and not loaded with rice, so you dont get full from it. The ambience was nice and the service fast and friendly. And the price – especially for lunch – was very reasonable. They don’t have any premium sushi included but that’s okay as I was happy with all the regular nigiris, maybe with the exception of the scallop which was just a little fishy. Their hot food/kitchen items were also pretty good. 5/5 overall, would definitely go back next time.

I used to go to sushi Pier for my Ayce but Kuma will now be my new go-to! They have so many non-rice offerings and the rice on their rolls+nigiris are not too much either. Their kamas however is not like the regular hamachi kama and doesn’t come with ponzu sauce but you can ask for it. Next time I’ll remember to ask to skip green onions and onions for carpaccio next time. The mochi ice cream is pretty good but strawberry is better than the vanilla. I ask for green tea ice cream on my banana tempura but can’t really taste the matcha. FYI green tea is not free and kids price is now lowered to 10 instead of 12. You can also call ahead to have your name put on waitlist

Delicious AYCE Sushi in the Reno area, not buffet style but you can always receive fresh meals as you need for 2 hours. This restaurant is very popular, and we waited for 40 minutes to get a seat at 6 pm on Saturday. Staffs are friendly.
Plenty of choices of tasty sushi and nigiri, especially with fresh fish and seafood. Fried appetizers are ok but it’s better to save your stomach for sushi. Sashimi salad, Salmon Cama, and baked sushi are highly recommended. There is an extra cost for ordering drinks.
We enjoyed this sushi experience.

Came here for AYCE meals a few times because we really like the food and service. Sushi does not have a lot of rice, so it’s really nice for AYCE. Service is attentive. Our servers came many times to take care of us, no waiting is needed.
Recommended to have a reservation.

Kuma Sushi: Reno’s Hidden Gem Delivers a Taste of Vegas-Level Excellence!
As a self-proclaimed sushi stickler, especially after being spoiled by the incredible sushi scene in Las Vegas, I’m always on the hunt for a place that truly measures up. And let me tell you, Kuma Sushi in Reno has officially ended my search – it’s the closest I’ve found to my favorite LV spots, and honestly, it might just be the best sushi in Reno I’ve tried.
From the moment you step in, the nice setting at Kuma Sushi sets a welcoming and comfortable tone. It’s the perfect backdrop for enjoying a fantastic meal. The good service was also a standout; attentive without being overbearing, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience.
Now, let’s talk about the sushi itself: the rolls here are simply the best in Reno that I’ve encountered. I opted for the Alaskan roll and the spicy salmon, and both were exceptional. The Alaskan roll quickly became my favorite – a perfect balance of fresh ingredients and expertly rolled. But don’t sleep on the spicy salmon; it was legitimately fantastic, with just the right amount of kick.
For anyone who appreciates high-quality sushi and has a soft spot for the caliber of rolls found in Las Vegas, Kuma Sushi is an absolute must-try. I’m already planning my next visit – I’m definitely coming back for more!

This place should have 5 stars. We got there an hour before closing and they let us know when they stop taking sushi orders which was 8:40 more than enough time but also nice to know in case we wanted more. Our server showed us how to order that was a cheaper way by using the method of group ordering the sushi we basically got a roll for free doing it that way. The sushi was mouth watering… Not too much rice and so much flavor. I couldn’t believe the prices it was cheaper than going to fast food in California. The people there were very nice and atmosphere was relaxing.
We are coming back before we leave to go home.

Have come here multiple times now and it has become our go-to spot in Reno for sushi. I love that they have some different offerings than the other ayce places- including Kama, creamy salmon, and affogato for dessert. They also have ono for nigiri, which I haven’t seen anywhere else in town. I mostly eat nigiri and I feel they do it really well. The mussels are 10/10. The rolls have been a little hit or miss- I will say as far as those go I have had better experiences at other places. But overall I just think the atmosphere and quality is always good.
