I worked close to Kotija jr so it was a mainstay for my coworkers and I. They used to have a Taco Tuesday deal of discounted fish tacos which I took advantage numerous times. But sometimes I got Pastor Tacos or Carne Asada Tacos. Other times I would get Carne Asada Fries, Nachos Supreme or a Calfornia burrito. I really liked their salsa bar, lots of cucumber, carrots and limes available.

Kotija Jr. has some wonderful food and have been wonderful people who assisted us.
In the last 6 months, the food has declined, while the prices have skyrocketed.
Today, I purchased green chile burritos and the portions were less than half that we would have expected in early 2025.
I lay no blame on them, I’m happy to support their business. But the weak burrito I purchased, that is more than 40% more cost, is problematic.
Even with these low scores, we will continue to support their team. But wanted people to know what to expect.

Got the number 12. Should’ve went somewhere else. I love authentic food. The meat was literally burnt and crispy and oddly chewy. Side note, flies in my face the whole time I’m trying to eat with no air conditioning or fan in the dining area. Very warm and stale environment.

Went there for the taco Tuesday deal and there were a couple of standouts.
The carnitas and chicken stood out in terms of flavor and I would highly recommend them.
The fish tacos and Carne asada were good too, but not as good as the first two. The latter in particular is cooked in a somewhat different style but it’s not as salty as the usual which I do appreciate.
The attention to details such as generous amount of onions, cilantro, lime slices was also a stand out. There are places that can’t even do these basic components correctly.
Overall, great place for tacos and would recommend especially for the Tuesday deals

Had this for the first time. I should probably eat there a few more times before reviewing, but the family all got something and everyone thought it was amazing. I still think I prefer the Kotija in Oceanside off College and the 78, but that’s not to say this was amazing.
The burritos are huge and tortillas are tasty. The beans are nice, guacamole is solid, but not spectacular. The carnitas are fantastic. Also, the salsas are a solid thumbs up. I tried the Diablo Shrimp Burrito, and I like Spicy Foods. And this did not disappoint. It’s not hot just to be hot. Good flavor, but will leave a good burn.

Taco salad with chicken. Tasteless chicken. Tasteless salad. Tasteless young lady that took my order was extremely rude then when I went to pick up the order they were discussing the “white girl”… There are Too many other options to subject myself to that nonsense ever again. Never going back.Yuck

Fish Tacos, need I say more? Friendly staff great food and extra value. Only one complaint, they need a no shoes no service policy a good 25% of the patrons where from the beach and dirty feet up on seats and some times even tables, if this was an out side stand I can see that ( people can be dirty pigs) but this is a inside place I would recommend tacking your food to go! Unless you are into eating off of tables with DIRTY feet on them.

This was our regular spot, but we took a break from coming because I was being charged different prices depending on what cashier I got. When I inquired about being upcharged, the cashier said that it must have been a different location. I told him I live up the street and frequently order the same thing. He didn’t budge, so we stopped coming for a while. Well, we started up again. And the same exact thing happened today. Our go-to lately has been pollo asada fries because it’s a good deal. When I went in today they charged me for carne asada fries, so I corrected him. He assured me it was the same price. I told him I actually just ordered them recently. He then called a woman from the back and she said the same thing as the cashier from the past, “must have been somewhere else.” I explained I go there often, and showed her the price on the website to prove I wasn’t crazy. She then doubled down and her new reason became that the prices changed ‘a week ago’ and they’re not showing up online yet. I thought that was ironic being I could have literally ordered online & just picked it up.
It was a really bad customer service experience and just an odd encounter, once again.
