We went with a party of 12. (We called ahead to reserve days in advance) they took our orders in a fairly reasonable amount of time and that’s where the good ended. 1/2 of the food was served and they didn’t realize the second 1/2 wasn’t delivered until they came back to check in the quality of the food that was already served. Then it took an additional 45 min to get the rest of the food out. They’ve been open long enough to have this sorted out, good news though they offered us a drink chip!

Amazing REAL smoked brisket. Now I know some people have said brisket was not screaming hot, but here’s the truth. Brisket is not to be served hot like a steak. When pulled from a smoker it needs to rest. It’s during this time that the magic really happens. It was nice and warm flavor was out of this world. Had cheese curds Potato salad was good as well. Bloody Mary was great. Im a simple man who likes simple but quality things and they did all this very well. From order to eat was about 18 minutes. Atmosphere was very nice. BEAUTIFUL BAR!!!

I have found my favorite dish at The BBQ Shack Bar and Grill. My husband and I stopped in for dinner, and the Chislic Beef on the menu caught my eye. The menu says it’s a South Dakota favorite … and it’s now my favorite. A half pound of bite-sized pieces of choice beef tips flash fried, served on a bed of signature sauce and topped with crispy onion straws. It was absolutely delicious. It’s shown as an appetizer on the menu, but can easily be a meal. My husband ordered a smash burger, a fan favorite, and a cup of homemade stuffed green pepper soup fresh from the kitchen which tasted like home. The barbecue sauces at the table top it all off. They are an adventure in flavor, just how hot can we go? The Shack is a definite thumbs up.

What a great place! Owners did a lot of work to upgrade the building. Food is always amazing and the staff is always smiling wether they are slammed busy or slow. Mistakes happen don’t let the few bad reviews deter you. I have been coming to the bbq shack since they were at the old location and I am so happy to see them expand and doing a fantastic job at it!

We had a reservation for a group of 12. 2 groups cache in after our orders were taken and got their food before us. Our food took forever and came out in multiple shifts. Half the table was done eating when the waitstaff figured out the other half of the table didn’t even get their orders made by the hack cook. The food was decent but I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant to anyone.

First time visit. Ordered the Q-Tator with Beef for $14.75 (inc. tax), to go. I believe the owner waited on me, and he was very pleasant. He apologized for the mess, saying they were Spring Cleaning. I can certainly appreciate a restaurant cleaning and don’t have a problem with what really looked like a delivery of paper products. The restaurant has a camp vibe, complete with picnic tables. The large aquarium seems a bit out of place. Preparing my order, he grabbed a foam to-go container in the main ordering room, and I think the potato or the “white” stuff, because he carried it open from the main room, through a hallway (one side a rest room & the other had a chair with a backpack on it), and into a dishwashing room. He was in there approximately 10 minutes. I looked at their many hard ice cream flavors. They were all covered, so I didn’t see the actual ice cream. The freezer had ice buildup and a disgusting brown streak all the way across it. When he reemerged from the back room, he carried the to-go box open, but with beef on it, all the way back to the ordering area. He asked if I wanted mild or sassy bbq sauce. I chose mild, but I didn’t even realize that came with the beef choice. He squirt some bbq on it, sprinkled some cheese over it, closed it up and put it in a bag for me. It wasn’t hot, nor was there a smoked aroma, in fact it smelled like nothing. The “white” stuff on the side was grainy, so I didn’t eat it. I tasted it, and it was sweeter than sour cream, but again, it didn’t look good. The beef itself was very tender, but lacked the smoky flavor I expected. The huge potato was a bit dry, but easily fixed. It can easily feed 2 people.
I was turned off by him leaving the main room and going into a private room to get my food. I wanted to cancel & get my money back. That’s just icky!
His mother came in from off the street to help, wearing a sleeveless dress. She jumped in taking orders from the 2 behind me, and placing buns in a toaster. I didn’t see her wash her hands. I’ve read good reviews for this place. Perhaps, the best day is when people smell the smokers going. They opened at 11am today, and I was there at 2:30pm. I don’t know when that meat was made. But, I’m unimpressed with their food handling and cleanliness.

The wait time to get your food is crazy. We have already been here an hour and still waiting. The people behind us are upset as a few of their guests with them haven’t received their food with the rest of their party. Hearing the waitress explain to them the broaster only fits so much chicken. The food here is excellent why ruin it because your appliances can’t handle the demand?

Went today very very slow service and had to leave my coat on because it was so cold. The food was terrible full rack of ribs looked like half rack and they were cold they ran out of corn bread and potato salad didn’t tell you they didn’t have chicken products and waited till you ordered to tell you. Also very slow won’t be going back. Don’t go you will be disappointed. They also charge 4 dollars for a soda. Looks like another person that doesn’t know how to run a business. Looking at the dollar first and don’t care about customers. To many places to eat. This will never be on our list.
